Time for Pyron?

Yea. Leary goes behind the DB on the slant, which is a cardinal sin. Blaylock made zero effort on the first INT. Bad throw but with any effort to fight for the ball it’s just incomplete. Leary also dropped a TD and a wide open bomb which goes for at least 40. Both were great throws. King wasn’t very good, but getting zero help from your WRs doesn’t help.

Blaylock didn’t realize it was a pick until it was too late. And that was a fluke pick. 99/100 that is a batted down pass.

Yea he didn’t realize it was a pick because he stopped competing for the ball. It was a fluke. But it was aided because our guy didn’t give a ton of effort. Little things like that can cost you games.

Here’s another, Cooley may have scored a TD on the swing pass if Leary makes any effort to block downfield. Instead Cooley had to cut back to the middle of the field.

I could talk about our safeties as well. A lot to be desired there from 5 and 1, who were supposed to be the strength of the D. 14 has actually outplayed them both all year.

It was a miracle catch.

Does it really Matter.... We still have a Coaching problem.... Especially on Defense....Or maybe all the four stars that Geoff Ollins and Brent Key recruited just are not as good as the Three Stars that Liberty and Tulane recruited... DUMPSTER FIRE... Really wish Willie Fritz or Jamey Chadwell would have been hired.

Honestly this whole year has been Geoffcollinesque...Aflac Loss, BG Loss, Ole Miss loss....BG is a really tuff loss because Clown Collins hire was a mistake made by one person, Todd Stansbury (and one booster John Dewberry who pledged money). The Key hire was made by a collection of people and Good Old Boy culture who overruled the new AD (J Batt) behind closed doors, enamored by 8 weeks and the fact that he was “one of us.”

The New AD has moved on to corporate dollars and hired outsiders and it’ll probably be for the best. The AD may have to do that at head football coach in a couple years. Season tickets are at 30K, and the football program is still complete **** show outside of the new OC, OL coaches, and years from competing for an ACC Title.

What makes all this worse is that Paul Johnson wanted to retire after the 2016 season. AD Todd Stansbury begged Paul not to to retire to give him more time to hire someone...(CPJ coached two more years out of respect to Georgia Tech) It is mind boggling that Clown Collins and his Associate Head Coach B.Key are the ones that AD Todd Stansbury & John Dewberry have in-trusted. The only question is how long until the new AD, J Batt can get a real HC in place?

i was ticked at blaylock at first too for not breaking pass up, but after replay, i dont think the defender even realized he caught it at first, so gave blaylock a little benefit of doubt.

Blaylock should have broken the pass up? He was trying to catch the pass. The defender stuck his hand in there and the ball next ended up on the defender's left hip/thigh. Neither Blaylock or the defender actually knew where the ball was in the first few milliseconds. And then the defender realized the ball was between his arm and his body while Blaylock still couldn't see the ball. Blaylock could also have been distracted by the sun staring both of them in the face and just didn't think to look for the ball trapped between the defender's body and arm. In another split second the defender took off for the endzone. Blaylock could have acted more interested in chasing him down but realized it was futile.

Yes. he should have broken it up. if receiver sees defender going for pick, they need to play defender and break pass up to avoid turnover. watching in real time you couldn't see how freak a catch it was, ie, cut blaylock some slack for not realizing what happened.

You don’t bench the starter unless he screws up badly multiple times and that hasn’t happened. It’s a different thing if he isn’t responding to instruction, but his issues are mostly the personnel around him, not excluding him from blame. He certainly shares some, but no. Don’t pull him yet.

The responsibility of the QB position is more than just "don't screw up." It's "win." Against B.C., he had a clear field to run for a key first down, but he decided to pass. It was incomplete. Things like this are not big "screw ups," but they do lead to losing. I think the backup deserves a chance. We need to win.

We should probably put him in when defending 4th and short. At least then we would have 11 players on the field.

This is getting a little ridiculous. I like Zach Pyron, but Haynes King is one of the better quarterbacks we have had on the Flats in sometime. The fact we have a true freshman as one our top producing wideouts should tell you something about our receiving corps. I think King deserves a lot of credit in that he executes the plays as given and he keeps the ad-libbing to a minimum.

A lot the play calling has been conservative to minimize disaster. You see a lot of out routes to try and minimize pick offs as the receivers seem to have a tendency to get beat.

King needs to take a seat and let Pyronmania do what he came here to do. Win and lead this team to greatness.

I'm sorry, but a better O-line isn't going to help King. He gets plenty of time in the pocket on some of his worst plays. He's got all the same problems today that the A&M boards used to complain about. He takes too long to make a decision, stares down his receivers, throws baffling picks. We can talk about what Blaylock should have done, but King stared at him the entire play. Jackson starts making his move on the ball before Blaylock even gets turned around. He also threw that floater into triple coverage late in the fourth.

King is the bestqb we have on the team. Hell he's made some mistakes but who on this team ( or message board ) has not. He lacks a stable OL, an adequate corps of receivers, no bruising rb to control a ground game . He has been playing well above average on a less than average team. People that always want the backup qb slay me with their lack of patience & understanding.

He did stare down Blaylock on that throw. And had an int against Miami and UNC where he flatly didn’t see the defender. Those aren’t mistakes he was making earlier in the year. They are coachable mistakes. I think he tends to force it a bit at times. the lack of running game isn’t helping things.
