Time for Pyron?

King is the bestqb we have on the team. Hell he's made some mistakes but who on this team ( or message board ) has not. He lacks a stable OL, an adequate corps of receivers, no bruising rb to control a ground game . He has been playing well above average on a less than average team. People that always want the backup qb slay me with their lack of patience & understanding.
King may be the best QB on the team. On paper he is probably better than Nesbitt but which would you rather have as your QB?

Sometimes the heart and desire not to lose doesn't show up in practice but they just find a way to win and inspire the team to follow. Pyron looked like he might have that in his brief appearances last year.

He did stare down Blaylock on that throw. And had an int against Miami and UNC where he flatly didn’t see the defender. Those aren’t mistakes he was making earlier in the year. They are coachable mistakes. I think he tends to force it a bit at times. the lack of running game isn’t helping things.
He had a couple like that against Louisville that they just dropped.

King started out great but hasn't been as impressive the last few games. I'm not blaming the losses on him by any means and don't think he's anywhere near our biggest problem but we need a leader.

It was a small sample size but the team seemed to rally around pyron when he came in last year and he looked like a take the team on his back and get the win type player.

Maybe it's time to give him a shot and see if he can motivate the team. We need somebody with some fire on the field.
No way. King is not the reason we've lost games. It is hard to be effective when you are getting beaten to heck every play. With a woeful offensive line like ours you can put anyone back there at QB and it will make no difference. Same for play calling. Until we upgrade our talent moving the deck chairs around won't change the results.

I'd have a really hard time being convinced that King didn't show that in the Miami game.

I specifically said he wasn't the reason we're losing. What we're doing now ain't working so I'm all for moving some chairs around.

Also in the BC game. King ran a lot. Taking those hits makes you a less effective passer. King has had a bit of a mid season swoon, but he hasn’t reached a level where you would pull him.

You say King has had a mid season swoon, I say the coaching staff has had a mid season strike. Seriously, King isn’t to blame for WR’s who are way below average as a group (individually we have some players at that position), or an OC who is so good that our running plays are known by my wife at this point and our 4 wide sets are about as imaginative as a ham sandwich. Now, granted, our offense is better than our defense but neither are good. If it wasn’t for King’s running for his life and passing game we’d have 1 win.

And what goes on at halftime in our locker room? I’d pay money to watch a live feed because right now it appears our coaches do close to nothing compared to our opponents.

That was honestly more on Miami being completely out of position than any effort by King. He was under 50% passing and had 2 ints(last one gave miami the lead and was way off target) on the night. Miami had 5 turnovers and we still almost lost.

I'd at least like to see Pyron used in some red zone packages (that aren't trick plays).

When King showed run, Miami bit. King then flatten out to stay behind the LOS and there a great ball. It was a great play by King.
