Transfer Portal Tracker

We can talk shit all we want, but at the end of the day these dudes have to do what they think is right for them and it’s not reasonable for us to impart our values on them. Their decisions will only impact them long term. I’ll have a hard time remembering who that fast wide receiver was when Haynes King was QB in five years. But Singleton may be able to do some great things with the $1M+ someone gave him to play sports for one year.

It's always easy to spend other people's money. That applies to telling people they should leave money on the table out of loyalty too.

Here is an idea to send the thread around a different circle over and over.

Baseball has a WAR stat to evaluate what someone is worth. Developing one for football would be way harder because the performance of the different positions is way more interrelated.

We have lots of profs and PhD candidates on campus and lots of big computing capacity.

Create the metric. Don't publicize you are doing it. Make it where a very few people know about all of it end-to-end so it is less pilferable. Have a competitive advantage for a couple of decades

Now you can resume saying the same things in different ways over and over again.

I've been toying with this idea for some time. Issue is multivariate nature of football vs baseball but, to your point, commission a few GT PhD's to figure it out.

You in in Orlando? I will head over and kick your ass real quick and then we can drink beers and watch SMU embarrass the ACC, Texas, Dallas, college football, Eric Dickerson, Craig James, and 5 hookers.
I refer all my fighting to Rulesette. But I’m in for some beer.

Currently at Universal.

Whenever a player enters the portal and doesn't have trips lined up within the next week it doesn't bode well.

Singleton and Rutherford were going to move on at some point.
But trying to develop somebody - two somebodies or multiple somebodies - to fill those two gaping holes in the offense for next week is the pressing problem. They had 115 receptions out of 244 for the entire team. That's 47%. And they accounted for nearly 50% of the receiving yards.
I couldn't give a Kirby less right now about some dude who's already been to multiple schools transferring in from FIU. I'll get concerned or excited about that in August. My concern is next Friday in Birmingham and who will take their spots.

Malik may not be gone and the numbers for Singleton have been highly inflated. Why do you think he hasn't signed anywhere yet? The $ promised isn't there.
He just entered the Portal. I’m sure he’s exploring his options. Hopefully he does withdrawal from the Portal, but CBK seems like he’s got Saban’s attitude. Once he decided to go to the Portal, my guess is CBK said “good luck” and the door to return closed.

The more research I do on these FIU receivers, the more excited I am getting. I think we’ll be fine at receiver.

DL continues to be the concern.

I could be wrong but I don't think he's officially submitted his name yet. A tweet that he intends to does not mean he's in yet. He's still in the facility and interacting with the team.

I find that a little hard to believe in this day and age. I imagine it's more like CPJ -- "Good luck, but we're not holding your spot for you so if you want to come back better make that decision quickly."

The biggest worry will be chemistry and continuity with King -- we start off with a tough road game next season and one spring and fall of practices isn't the same as having gone though multiple seasons together.
Get what you're saying, but King came in fresh out of the portal and put up 313 yards, 3 TDs, and 34 points against a good Louisville team in his first game as a Jacket.

I trust we'll have a highly productive offense thru the air and on the ground with him and Faulkner running things.
