Honestly the way it should be. Coach isn’t the highest paid person on any professional sports roster.

My only gripe about all the NIL stuff is that they should expand it to TV revenue sharing. 60% goes to players or something. Transfer money should be a package deal on all assets, not just donors.

IMO the influence of coaches was part of what made CFB special. Contrast it against the NBA where coaches may as well not exist. It's unwatchable.
 
I don't believe jack sheet about any of the speculated pay days these players are supposedly getting if and until we see W-2s. It's all message board fodder and click bait.

Ha. U think any one player mattered under saban or alabama over the past 20 years. Comical. That coach and the school made a really great player better. And the awards followed.

Its not close. Look at it. In college. Its the program. Development. And coach.

Past tense “was the college, program, development, coach (with a sprinkle of bag men and shady roster moves)”. Now it’s whoever has money. Yankees, Mets, Dodgers will always be in the hunt for pennants not because of the manager, but because they have the deepest pockets. We’re headed that way. Heck, even MLB has luxury taxes. CFB doesn’t even have that check. Will the Marlins make it once every 20 years to the Series? Maybe, but not likely.

Buy the best players, create a lineup, call some plays, march on. Imagine what the NFL would look like without contracts, caps, CBA, etc. That’s where we’re at.
