Transfer Portal Tracker

Past tense “was the college, program, development, coach (with a sprinkle of bag men and shady roster moves)”. Now it’s whoever has money. Yankees, Mets, Dodgers will always be in the hunt for pennants not because of the manager, but because they have the deepest pockets. We’re headed that way. Heck, even MLB has luxury taxes. CFB doesn’t even have that check. Will the Marlins make it once every 20 years to the Series? Maybe, but not likely.

Buy the best players, create a lineup, call some plays, march on. Imagine what the NFL would look like without contracts, caps, CBA, etc. That’s where we’re at.
Yeah. I mean baseball and football have like literally no analogy. So thats cute. Merry Christmas

Texas A&M tried your strategy and would like a refund.

The emotional rollercoaster of the portal has got me throwing cookies in the floor.

We’ve picked up some good players the past couple of weeks. Future is bright!

So I don’t know how to react with portal commits. Would we rather get 4 star kids from the factories that couldn’t crack the starting rotation, or the 2-3 star kids that balled out at FCS and group of 5?

Our 3 star kid who balled out was considered one of the top players in the portal

I don't believe jack sheet about any of the speculated pay days these players are supposedly getting if and until we see W-2s. It's all message board fodder and click bait.
BUT A REPORT SAID IT!!!
SOMEONES SOURCE!!!

I was thinking this very thing just now. And, moreover with respect to NIL, are we paying these kids from the smaller schools? Whereas I tend think surely we would for the others, but with these small schools/underrated I think we have players that firstly are looking for the opportunity.. and the education.. and motivated in those better ways (I hope, anyway)

Mix of both should give you a good chance at a few hits

SMU bought their way into the ACC and the playoffs. Seems to be working as designed to me.

Maybe they should pay the CFB GMs and Directors of Player Personnel more than coaches too since those are the guys buying and scouting the personnel. Y’all have fun with your head in the sand :) A&M was a win away from getting into the playoffs if they had beat TU and the committee kept up with “not punishing teams for playing in the conference championship”.

I like the guys we are pulling in the portal. Helps make up for some losses and fills some gaps.

As far as Lubbock goes, it does not require a lot of time there to decide it is not as attractive as Atlanta for a young guy

Parents lived in Lubbock when was in college. Tech’s quarter schedule meant I was always a few weeks off of semester colleges. I’d run in the park near TT. TT was absolutely stacked with tall, big boobed blondes.

Read the article posted last page on Duke paying supposedly $4M for Tulane QB... lots and lots and lots of money in the portal. It's the Wild Wild West, out there.
