Who is paying for this stuff?

Hope we can at least beat 1 of these groups of " rednecks" in the next 13 months.

They are not adding stands.

The distance to the field is not that much greater than in a typical stadium.

.
From Google Earth Pro the width across the Bristol Speedway (from outside to outside of the asphalt lanes) is twice the distance that our West stands are to East stands.

Yeah, I get it. And I'm sitting at the track as high up and far away as you can get from where the field will be and telling you that it isn't that bad a view. Hell, after tailgating all day for an 8pm kickoff you aren't going to remember what you saw anyway.

VT will lose this game then go on to win the coastal and Tennessee will suck the rest of the year and secspn will use this one game to gauge both conferences all year

:bigcry:

I think it's a great idea. Yeah the sight lines will suck, but it's probably a one time only event for these teams and they'll all have been part of something unique. I'm sure it will be a blast if you like people who wear jorts.

I beg to differ. So do these measurements. The closest seats will be almost a football field away from the football field.

Right at 400 feet from the end of the endzone to the first endzone seats. Almost 2 football fields to the box seats.

"The idea of Tennessee playing Virginia at Bristol is one “20 years in the making,” BMS general manager Jerry Caldwell told SB Nation in a phone interview. But though regular attempts were made through the years to secure the game between the two universities, which are both roughly 120 miles from the track, various hurdles prevented a deal from ever being completed."

I think the reason it took 20 years to get this done is because people kept realizing that a NASCAR track could not be made into a decent venue for football.

The view from the top of Neyland is pretty shitty. It especially sucks that Tennessee wears light orange with white numbers so you can't tell who is who from the upper part of the stadium. There are even a some seats up against the pressbox where the pressbox blocks half the field.

Worst stadium experience ever is USuCk in Columbia, SC. What a shithole.
