We would have scored 70 against the Gaggers had it not been for the coconut fillYes the coconut garbage infill has been removed and the more common rubber pellet type has been applied. Hopefully this keeps the turf looking more fresh. The coconut husk dies and turns brown which in turn made the grass look dead. I think that stuff got slick as owl öööö when it got wet too was another reason to ditch it.

How did they not know these "features" before it was chosen for our field?Yes the coconut garbage infill has been removed and the more common rubber pellet type has been applied. I’m curious about the NFL study and what controls were used. My experience is a well maintained natural grass is infinitely preferable to any kind of turf. The exception is inclement weather. Natural grass can turn into a sloppy mess whereas the newer turfs with the beads better maintains integrity. Have no experience with the coconut stuff…sounds like some sustainable, eco friendly crap.
The old turf at BDS was absolutely awful…an ACL and concussion machine. Thank the Lord O’Leary had it removed.
Let's think this through to find the answer. Encounters with various ST moms always turns into a sloppy mess but that hasn't proven to be a deterrent, and certainly integrity is no factor. Coconut stuff definitely comes in handy when the creaky back door needs some help opening up. The only debate of natural vs artificial is more on the front side but generally is no factor either, we are an inclusive bunch if nothing else. Much like ST moms, the old artificial turf could definitely take and give a pounding and also result in a nasty burning rash, I'll give it that. None of this was apparent to our former leader as he was clearly focused on the wrong things.
So we know it doesn’t come from TaiwanShaw is owned by Berkshire Hathaway now, who also owns Russell Athletic. Karma
Yeah, either one of themNah, we traded ööööty uniform supplier for another ööööty uniform supplier. And it is more like we tied ourself to a Tech Booster instead of a Tech Man. With our financial situation it would be rather dumb to callously start alienating our boosters.
None of it comes from Taiwan or overseas. Shaw is Dalton. FieldTurf Calhoun. There are a few others around, but most turf originates in N Ga.So we know it doesn’t come from Taiwan
We needed turf to support all the concerts, professional sporting events, and other major attractions that come to GT every year.I’m curious about the NFL study and what controls were used. That's what those Shaw salesmen told our dumbass AD over a nice steak dinnerWe needed turf to support all the concerts, professional sporting events, and other major attractions that come to GT every year.
And we probably paid for the dinnerThat's what those Shaw salesmen told our dumbass AD over a nice steak dinner
So have there been any events or attractions that used the field since the turf was installed? We needed turf to support all the concerts, professional sporting events, and other major attractions that come to GT every year.
