Kid sounds like kind of a tool, but I’m not sure how Florida fans can be trying to laugh this suit off so quickly. At the end of the day it seems pretty clear they didnt give the kid money after using the promise of money to recruit him. Even if courts don’t rule against them, that’s gonna be some brutal negative recruiting fodder to overcome.

“Oh Florida is offering you $X? lol didn’t you hear about Rashada?”

It’s so ööööed up and it really rubs me the wrong way. As fans, we’re supposed to be the consumers of college sports entertainment. We contribute primarily by buying tickets, but media rights and stuff also put in a huge pot of money. Historically, big fans could go above and beyond to subsidize athletic operations with essentially charitable donations. Fair enough. The truly insane would throw in illegal money under the table.

But now they’ve created a system where the schools are also begging for fans to create NIL funds. I heard talk that GT “needs” $250 to $500K per year in NIL just to recruit and retain decent players for MBB alone. That’s gross and insane, and I’m not going to participate in it.

I don’t know what the endgame is all of this is, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be recognizable as the thing I’ve enjoyed following for most of my life.

Napier is finished at Florida. I don't know how in the hell he is still hanging around.
UF has been a revolving door since Urban left. Napier has only been at UF 2 years, no HC can fix anything in such a short period of time. Add in UF’s schedule this year, and he is likely out barring a miracle 7-6 type season.

UF’s OOC games are Miami, UCF, FSU, Samford. Very well could lose 3/4.

Add in sec games against:

Texas, TAMU, UTjr, LSU, Ole Miss, uga.

Good luck.

1) I’m not sure any verbal commitment matters and the text need to be clear for this to get any traction.

2) Are they claiming they signed something with the NIL company and then they said, nope we are not doing that. I bet that is not true.

3) I think that NIL went out of business so it was sort of a buyer beware situation.

4) If recruits can sue for promise made but not kept during football recruiting then college football will be tied up in courts for years to come.

A UF coach who goes 0/3 against this Miami, FSU, and UCF deserves to be fired. UF has no business losing to UCF. Miami is a middle of the road ACC team. FSU is the only formidable team there, but they might not win 10 games this year.

Yep. I'm surprised he's still there. He's still recruiting OK but it's not the UF of old. They have talent/continuity and QB issues. They need to start dominating the East again and shut UGAY up.
