Vote for Haynes King

That’s bc you can’t look at it without bias. No one likes to acknowledge that the football world saw Tech as a novelty or curiosity that was sometimes entertaining but never quite on par with everyone else. From the kicker to the coach everything and everyone came with a caveat.
You apparently experienced a different reality than I did during that time. :dunno:

King is tied for 5th most TD passes in the country. His company includes all the QBs currently in the Heisman conversation. Anyone that thinks we’ve had a better one since Godsey should be embarrassed.
There's more to being a QB than throwing TD passes. That said, Haynes definitely seems to do many things well as a QB. The future is bright!

“Lucas Johnson and Jay Jones may actually be the most talented kids we’ve had at Georgia Tech since I’ve been there at quarterback,” Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson said

This is from July 2017

Justin Thomas and Josh Nesbitt both were considered potential Heisman Candidates following their breakout seasons in 2009 and 2014 respectively. Unfortunately those ended in Team disappointment due to injury (Nesbitt himself in the case of 2010). Justin Thomas was the Orange Bowl MVP and threw for 1700 yards and ran for 1100. He was 2-2 against UGA as a member of the team with 1 loss coming in OT as the backup . He was the best QB since Godsey. These are facts.

Feels like you are more interested in putting down CPJ's QBs and people who like them than you are in praising King.

Don't see why you can't just say that King is an awesome QB without taking pot shots at a couple of the great QBs we've had in the past 15 years, or disparaging people who aren't willing to rank King above them after only eight games.

King is awesome and the future looks bright. We should all look forward to him accomplishing great things here.

When opposing fans said that the option was a gimmick, it was because that's all they could say to stop it... If you create a narrative, it's harder to recruit for it. UGA fans telling us that the option was a gimmick and that our QBs were running backs is like us pounding our chests about academics after they beat us... Just a weak defense. The problem is a lot of our fans ate up that narrative and regurgitated it with gusto. I like it better when we don't worry so much about what other fans think of us.

I didn't create or even promote the narrative. These days I simply own its existence and recognize its prevalence. We can all pretend the media and fans loved and respected the TO, but aren't you tired of having all that sand in your hair?

I can do all that, but GD it sure is fun sometimes to watch you guys feast on 10-year old bait.

True. Nothing says "good time" like insulting former Tech players to get a rise out of fellow Tech fans.

Ah, I always enjoy the admonishment from folks that have never said an ill word about a player. Boy, there sure are a lot of you guys! One might even say an unbelievably high number.

I know you didn't create the narrative. It is as old as the hills. That said, how are you not promoting it? More importantly, if you are just "owning the existence" of the narrative, why are you saying dumb crap like our quarterbacks under CPJ weren't quarterbacks? Justin Thomas led multiple game winning drives against good teams where his passing featured prominently. Godsey was great, but we got beaten up by Georgia in his last game at home. What, really, is the point?

If I acknowledge that many people have said a woman can’t be CEO, does it mean I believe it or am promoting it? Of course not. I think you understand this concept but continue to fein confusion bc you just never liked what people said about the Tech offense back in the day. Go find a couch and talk it out with someone.

I said they were QBs - just that TO QBs and ”regular” ones are apples and oranges. I would say everyone gets this except you but you have a lot of company. Congratulations on being in the newly ordained fraternal order of the intentionally obtuse.

Of course Thomas had his share of games where he was good at both passing AND running. I have not said this, but if this admission washes me clean in the waters of the righteous fan, then I hereby accept both Justin’s arms AND legs as my Lord and Savior!

I’ve already stated that Thomas was a good TO QB with a well-earned Tech fan reputation and respect. He was the best passer PJ ever had. I get that you want me to say he was a “good” QB. I’ll do one better and say he was a “great” TO QB. But put him in a traditional offense and he’s no better than Jeff Sims.

You definitely said the opposite of that earlier:

We didn’t have a QB during CPJ’s tenure. It is what it is. Calling any of those guys QBs is like calling Noah a yachtsman.
My point is he’s the best overall QB we’ve had since Godsey. I don’t think it’s even close.

If a WR becomes the all-time leading kick returner we don’t call him the greatest WR of all time.
I think it's a tough sell to say that and then call people intentionally obtuse for not understanding that you meant they were real QBs, just different from Haynes King and most other modern passing offense QBs.

Again, it's almost like you were trying to piss people off by insulting them. Which, I guess you said you were so that makes sense.
