We are going to a bowl

Boston College vs. Maryland in Detroit? There will literally be 12 people in the stands. GT hockey will draw more

No worries. I hear they hand tickets out to the game with any malt liquor purchases in that town the week prior.

Give me a ticket AND the malt liquor for free and I'd consider it. Of course, I'd puke pregame if Maryland wears those horrible uniforms like they wore yesterday.

The uniforms looked much better after getting a bunch of footprints on them.

There used to be a straight-forward hierarchy of ACC Bowls which would result in selections being made in a sequence. That seems to have gotten muddied up with groups of bowls being treated as equal and teams being assigned (maybe a geographic influence). As best as I can tell, though, the rough ranking looks something like this:

Orange>Russell>Sun>Taxslayer>Belk>Independence>Pinstripe>Military>Quick Lane> St. Petersburg

Does anyone know if this is fairly accurate or what the secret selection process entails?

Thanks. So looks something like this:

Orange

Russell Athletic

Sun=Belk=Pinstripe= Taxslayer (Music City alternate years)

Military>Independence>Quick Lane>St. Petersburg

so your list had only one true error in ordering
thats a good job

i think part of the reasoning is also for the sake of the teams. many dont want to travel far away to play in front of fewer traveling fans.

Unfortunately, I don't see a likely path for us to rise out of the bottom tier. Even if we beat UVa and finish 4-4 in the conference, we need an ACC team to make the playoffs plus one of the teams ahead of us to lose out:

Miami to lose to NCS and Duke, or...
WF to lose to Clemson and BC, or....
Pitt to lose to Duke and Syracuse

The most likely scenario is that we end up tied with WF for 8th in the ACC and get picked by the Military
Bowl over them. Otherwise, it's Shreveport. Then again, crazy things happen sometimes.

Or the loser of Michigan/Ohio State drops out of Top 4 and Clemson and Louisville make the playoffs.
