We are going to a bowl

I think you are missing the Music City or Russell. Miami and Wake don't travel well, not sure about Pitt. But the ACC will find a way to screw us and we end up in the Heart of Texas or Shreveport or smurf turf or nuts thereby proving we don't travel well.

Music City and Taxslayer alternate their ACC tie-in each year. This year we get the Taxslayer.

The Russell Athletic Bowl picks after the Orange Bowl and before the Belk/Sun/Taxslayer/Pinstripe cluster (BSTP).

Right now, there are 3 Atlantic teams (Clemson, Louisville, and FSU) and 2 Coastal teams (VT and UNC) that will definitely finish ahead of us. If Clemson makes the playoff, VT and Louisville would take the Orange and Russell. The four equal-tier BSTP bowls are next up, so right now they would get UNC, FSU, ?UM, and ?Pitt. Pitt or UM would have to lose to Syracuse or Duke, respectively, and we would need to beat UGag to change that.

Some people seem to think we are in the first tier for acc bowl games. There is no way. We will be the 8th place team more than likely and even if Clemson is in the CFP we will be 7. That puts us right at the top of the 2nd tier in the Independence bowl at best.

The only way into the first tier is if we beat UGA and Miami and Pitt both lose (vs. Duke and Syracuse) Then we would have the better record, but not H2H or conference positioning. If we beat UGA and one of them lose, we may get the Music City or Taxslayer, which is certainly fine with me.

Is Russell that elevated? Maybe I missed it, but you are correct that they have shown us no love despite being the only P5 team to wear their uniforms.

No. In some areas of the city it is drinkable. Other areas, no. They're saying it's ok to bath in but not drink. It's an absolute joke. It's been going on for more than 2 years but the state tried to cover it up. It just got national attention this year. For me personally, it's killing my income. I own close to 100 rental properties in the city and I'm having a hard time keeping them occupied. Add that to no jobs and one of the highest murder rates in the country, I see no way this city will ever bounce back. And no I do not live in the city.

FWIW - DC Water covered up the same problem in Washington, DC for longer than 2 years and no one GAF.

Most of the bowl projectors put minimal effort into their predictions. I am pretty sure the group of 4 (Belk, Pinstripe, Sun, Taxslayer) don't select sequentially. It is assignment-by-committee using factors such as geographical proximity and recent appearances, in addition to team and bowl preferences. As long as Pitt beats Syracuse Saturday, they would be the likeliest candidate for the Pinstripe, because they've never played in it and are the closest to NYC. The Belk Bowl has gotten a NC school 7 of the past 9 years, so UNC would appear to be the best fit there. That would leave Miami (if they beat Duke) and FSU for the Taxslayer (Jacksonville) and the Sun. Since Miami played in the Sun last year, I think they would get Taxslayer, and FSU would be going to El Paso. If Tech does manage to break into the group of 4, we'd probably get Pinstripe or Sun, depending on who we bumped out.

Man I would love our guys to destroy the Twerps in a bowl game. Might even travel to see it.
