Why isn’t he still here?

I’d be curious how 3O would work with the current form of CFB free agency. I’d imagine it would be infinitely more difficult to retain your best players with NFL aspirations.
270 pound lineman, little fast QBs, and 155 pound running backs don’t have much nfl aspirations. Might be hard to keep a great WR; then again, our WR in the 3O never had any problems making it to the NFL.

Easy to criticize the idea of bringing the 3O back but I don't see anyone posting any other ideas for getting out of our predicament. Y'all do realize Tech football cannot compete in this NIL + portal landscape, right? We are doomed if we continue down the path we're on. We need a system that can negate the huge talent deficit we're going to have. Getting the NIL or portal rules changed is the only other option I see, but no one with Tech is working on this.

This right here. That was my point. It was extremely effective during CPJ's first years. The rule changes were more than he could overcome.
You do realize we won the orange bowl and beat Georgia twice after those rule changes? We also had a 9 win season in 2016.

Meanwhile, the current moron who mocked the philosophy of the previous staff for his first 18 months on campus has won 9 games in 3 years, and his best coaches and players can’t get away from his program fast enough.

Please advise how to get the portal and NIL rules changed? The only way to compete is to dive in and embrace the new rules because they aren't going away. Adapt or die.....it is that simple

and rule changes have neutered it's most effective components.
The rules will be changed again anytime the top tier teams are threatened. It is not a coincidence that the transfer rule was implemented in conjunction with the NIL. These rules will be tweaked whenever necessary based on feedback from the power structure.

The rules were changed several times over his tenure including after 2016. Each time the rules were changed, the TO became less effective.

You do realize we don’t yet know how much NIL will affect us? The transfer portal isn’t hurting Tech any more than anyone else either. All we need is good coaching.

We are not going to have a huge talent deficit against most teams we play. I doubt the likes of UVA, Pitt, Duke, VPI are going to kill it with NIL and the portal. Look at Pitt. They have done pretty well with average recruiting and good coaching. That's all it takes. So why do you think we have to run the option?

Playing Clemson and Georgia every year hasn't helped in keeping perspective lol

No doubt. Those issues pre-date NIL and the portal, of course. And the option was no longer playing equalizer vs those teams, so I really don't understand what some think we would gain by going back to it.

About the rule changes ...
We still averaged 33 points and 325 yards rushing per game in PJ's last season
I contend it was less the rules - which did hurt, but mostly on A backs blocking - and more an inconsistent passing game.

As for our original point, Walker was sixth on the team in tackles last season. And that's with missing two games.

To beat Georgia

I would be fine with another system that mitigates talent differential
