You realize that was 8 years ago, right?

The Brendan Douglasses will transfer, and end up living in their mothers’ basements, like Brendan Douglas did.

The Isaiah Willises will stay, and end up with the high-paying careers, like Isiah Willis did.

Most players in the portal will never have it as good as they did at their original schools.

Somebody around here gets it.

The same thing that makes the option effective in the short term makes it inevitably fail in the long term. Its different and it catches teams that haven't seen much of it off guard... for a while. Then they break the code and dominate it, especially if you don't a) continue to evolve it as a countermove and b) can't recruit the talent you need if you don't make it evolve. Other versions of the 3O were way more successful than PJ's version, and they still reside in the dustbin of football history.

We weren't beating these dwags with the option. Different animal from what Richt was putting out there toward the end.
Probably weren’t getting shutout by these dawgs either, or Notre dame, or lost 100-0 to
Close the season and laughed at those not seeing “progress.” Don’t think The option ever got shut out, did it? Nope. Actually, Our options teams were only held to single digits 6 times in 11 years. GC has already blown by that number. Sure is fun scoring 0, 0, 8, 7, 2, 7, 0 isn’t it?

I think we've processed all the option QB's and Patenaude is gone so progress is back on the menu

Luckily we don’t have to process guys anymore. We are getting processed by the portal, and will struggle to find 85 scholarship players by fall camp

The 2018 team was shut out for a half by Duke and a half by Pitt. Last year's uga would have had a shot at shutting out one of CPJ's weaker teams. But again, there are more choices than the option and whatever Patenaude was attempting to do.

Real question, what’s the most amount of transfers we lost in a season? So far this is 10.

You convinced me. Let's go back to this...I really miss those ankle biter plays.

That doesn't mean much without knowing their context
I think what he’s trying to say is Walker either bumped into or touched an opposing player carrying the ball in such a fashion the opposing player either went out of bounds or fell in the field of play short of the goal line. It didn’t happen much in the secondary last year but if you watch enough game tape you’ll see that in fact it did happen once in a while.

Defining tackles doesn't provide context behind his tackle count. I like your helping spirit, though. Maybe you can dig up how many times his receiver was targeted, yards given up on/after catch, etc. I've got his pick count covered so we're good there. Hopefully the stats don't show he was simply picked on for easy yards.

I used to watch our games 2-3 times a week. I haven’t been able to stomach it the last 3 years. Walker may be a big loss, he may be addition by subtraction. I got no idea. I tend not liking losing experienced depth, but who knows in this case. Our defense is so wretched, I can’t hardly watch. We still got the same DC, so it looks like he voted with his feet. That’s my only logical take away from his “uncertainty” comment.

Real question, what's the most amount of inbound transfers we gained in a season before this one? So far, we're net positive, per 247 (reposting a link that @gtchief posted in the Domineck thread)
