Who will replace Collins?

It doesn’t matter. What makes you think anybody’s going to do better? Tennessee has been through 7 coaches and they’re still bad. Who do you think is going to get better first, Georgia Tech or Florida State? Sit back and relax. It’s gonna be a long, long time.
So what is the point of Tech football?

He will be here next year. He may be here the year after that. But Geoff Collins’ time at Tech will end and it will end before the 7 year contract is complete. He will not be leaving on his own terms because it is now 100% that he will be and has to be fired.
Words of wisdom, no doubt.

This öööö right here, this attitude from a sizable portion of our "fan" base, is why we can't have nice things. Nah, not relaxing but you do you

Those Guys tend to wait for Jobs that pay $4MM and up, maybe $5MM & up.

Waiting for a job like that has a ripple down effect, because your buyout in case you're fired will be 2-3 yrs at $4 to 5MM vs. the paltry wages we pay.

Coordinators are now making 7 figure salaries, at that pay level, they can be a lot choosier and wait for "a perfect fit" rather than taking our Job and only making $2.5 to $2.7MM per yr.

The economics of P5 Coaching has changed , we have to understand these things if we want to improve.

If Collins is smart, he goes to TStan this offseason and agrees to $1-1.5M salary next year; but the freed up money has to go to recruit a DC. Try to get good on at least one side of the ball, and I think you can fix the D faster than you can install a new offense. Short term he would lose money; but long term he might make it to year 7 if he simply shows improvement on one side of the ball.

Bill Curry
Bill Curry is a good man. However, in my opinion, he was not a very good coach. The next time Tech hires another head football coach I hope it is someone who has a proven track record. Our AD, Mr. Stansbury, bought Coach Collins's sale's pitch hook, line, and sinker. He handed over Tech's football program to a middle aged coach with only two years of head coaching experience. And that was two mediocre seasons at Temple. Then, to top it off, he gives this man a 7 year contract!

Therefore, TS is the one who is most responsible for the current state of our football program. It would be nice if the powers that be told Mr. Stansbury we will use YOUR salary to help pay for another coach. If you don't like that then your fired!

It's a shame about our players. They have worked so hard to be a better football team this year, but they have been mismanaged horribly. Please remember, those young men, who play for Georgia Tech, are the ones who put their bodies at risk each time they go out on that field. The coaches don't and neither do us, the fans.

As Coach Bobby Dodd once said, " .....we should always keep uppermost in mind that football, with all its glamour, glitter, thrills and chills, plus everything that makes it great, has one thing more important than all of these combined--that is, the boy who plays it."

GO JACKETS!

I’ve got a bad feeling that Colling might find some stupid way to beat UGAg and then he’s stuck here for 30 more years

Yeah, I agree.

We are in crisis, something has to be done.

Here's the downside, Coordinators now want 3yr contracts, is CGC gonna give that up for multiple years, and if not can The GTAA set that kind of precedent for that kind of pay

No such thing as a bad feeling pulling off such a monumental and improbable upset against them this season.

There's been something in my bones this whole year that's been telling me that Georgia will choke against us...I'd take it. I don't think our boomer boosters have the gumption to ever take the steps to get us competitive anyway, so I would trade a few bad years for a win over this UGA team.

So, coaching isn’t substantially equal as you’ve posted many times?

If Tdope was smart, he’d be finding the funds to get Collins some major staff upgrades. Much cheaper to do that than replace a whole staff after apathy has set in.
