Whos your top 3 RIVALS?

I would like an East/West Division, with I-85/95 being the divider.

East: Miami, UNC, NCSU, Duke, Maryland, BC
West: FSU, GT, Clemson, Wake, UVA, Va Tech

Rivals: Miami-FSU, GT-Duke, Clemson-NCSU, Wake-UNC, UVA-Md, Va Tech-BC

If we went North/South I would prefer Duke and UNC with FSU, GT, Clemson, and Miami in the South

Rivals could be: State-UNC, Duke-Wake, Miami-BC, FSU-Va Tech, Clemson-UVA, GT-Maryland

Dammit. You ****ers just don't get it. It doesn't matter. Of course we keep them from the BCS. DUH. We don't get there ourowndamnselves without beating them. And we're going every single year from here on out. What the hell is wrong with you people?

Yeah, we're the ones not making sense.

We beat the Athens team, win the ACCCG, advance to the BCSCG against the winner of the Big ##, Pac Teneleven, SEC West, MAC, CUSA, WAC...it doesn't matter. They won't be there. We'll have beaten a team we always whip up on. No rivalry. It's over. They are meaningless.

Give me another 'um, okay.'

Um, okay. That would be great. Most if not all of it's really possible, too, which is nice.

That just means you haven't grasped the significance of reaching the 'next level'.

We haven't reached the next level. We went from a division winning team playing in a New Year's Day bowl game to a 7-5 squad playing in Boise. This season was an unfortunate regression, and it cost our coach his job. I'm confident that hiring Paul Johnson is a step towards that 'next level,' but we're not there yet.

We are not a 'regional' program anymore

Yeah we kinda are. Once again, we're moving more nationally but we're not there yet.

...like the other schools in our State.

Come on. Like it or not, Georgia is much more of a national program than we are.

Your AD has announced a new era in Tech football and you people act like nothing has changed.

True, the times they are a changin'. But I'd like to see some results on the field before calling Georgia Tech a top tier national program.

I'm really optimistic about the future of Tech football right now. And it certainly seems like many on this board share that opinion. But we're also trying to have rational, pleasant discussion about Tech sports here.

So if you can give some backing to your claims that we're about to destroy UGA's program starting next year and become one of the two or three best teams in the country year in and year out, feel free.

Otherwise, could you save your fan-boy, looking to give George P. Burdell the reach-around posts for the Hive or some other message board?

Signed,

One of the people of which there is something that is the hell wrong with.

He is putting on an act, Beesball.
Only sorta kinda.

The fact is that we ARE a national, not a regional program. We just have a bunch of people that don't act like it. And it is a different mindset. You don't go around saying, 'I wouldn't mind losing every game, except the one to the State school.' You EXPECT to win every game, because that's what the best programs do. You don't hope to win the BCS. You expect to win the BCS. From day one. And when you hit the adversity that every team, except one, experiences every year, you pick yourself up and know it was a cosmic mistake that will never happen again, because you are THE Georgia Institute of Technology. You ARE NOT the Georgia Tech University. It isn't enough to have the cow college hate your guts because you've beaten them 10 years running. It's time for every other college football fan in the country to hate and respect us, because...WE ARE THE RAMBLIN' WRECK, DAMMIT!

Now, quit talking in the past. It's over. I AM A RAMBLIN' WRECK FROM THE GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, DAMMIT! Respect me, fear me, hate me. Hide your wives and daughters (cows, if you're from SC; sisters, for those of you from AL). You can have your mythical Division 1 college football national championship trophy back when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

This is fun.

My God I admire you.

Now that is a good post, and now I see what you're getting at.

1. Georgie
2. Clemson
3. Alabama(We're in their fight song)
4. Auburn
5. Duke
6. Notre Dame

P.S.- I love your enthusiasm Clapper!!!

Georgia Tech is the national program. Georgia just doesn't get a blip on anybody's radar outside of the SE. That doesn't mean that Georgia isn't a better football program in the national rankings right now, but no way are they more of a national program than Tech.

Asside from U [sic] GAg, the rival I absoultely detest is ND. What other university gets an exclusive contract with a major network such that all their games are nationally televised? Even with a three-win season.

Oh, and Rudy is easily the worst football movie ever made! Sean Astin marginally redeemed himself with his portrayal of Sam in the LOTR trilogy. But otherwise, he can go pound sand. And Regis Philbin can join him.

They are not yet, but they are in a position this year to put themselves on the national map. Everyone knows they've been up there in the SEC for years, and now they have a BCS bowl that everybody is interested in and going to be watching. That's why I think it's retarded on their part that they won't be wearing their school colors during the game, but that's U[sic]GA for you.

What are they wearing?

Can't think of 3 top rivals.
Only UGA as a rival for us.
However I do hope we can become EVERYONE else's ARCH RIVAL.
No other team should have any love for us. I just hope they all hate us.

I agree with the poster that these three were the only correct answer:

1) UGA
distant 2) Auburn
3) Clemson

FSU would be a strong #4 for us if we still played them every year.

The egotistical asshole Mark Richt is calling for a blackout of the SuperDome.

Huh. Yeeeaaaah. You already threw that pitch, ace.

That would have a real "victory lap" feel to it, wouldn't it? Pretty self-congratulatory. I mean, I thought the black jerseys looked kind of cool, but wearing them again would be overdoing it.

Like last year, I loved us wearing the blue in Jacksonville. But if we'd won, and shown up in Miami wearing the blue again, I would not have been so excited.

Overdoing it is an understatement.
Richt has become a complete sellout from where he was after the Vandy game.

To gain some real team chemistry before the Sugar Bowl, maybe CMR will be the team ring leader of some smash and grab thefts around the French Quarter.

I have never had a thought of being a Rainbow Warrior fan until now. Maybe JJ will hang a Fitty Cent piece on Richt. I hope so.
