Why Brent Key should be HC

To the fans that say Key has to beat the mutts to get the job, hell it looks like everyone they play needs to fire their coach bases on that. I don’t know who will be named as the coach, but I do know that Key has done about all that could have been asked of him, and the players play their ass off for him. That means a lot. Go Jackets!

I see your point. But Brent Key motivates these kids. They want to play for him. He won with backup talent at GT tonight.

Chadwell might bring the same energy. Or he might not. Did you read Bradley’s article last week? Being a new head FB coach in the ACC is as challenging is climbing Mount Everest with a broken ankle.
It’s a gamble. I’m actually glad it’s not my decision. Firing Collins was an easy decision. Replacing him is the challenge.

I’ve been on Team Chadwell, but it’s hard not to root for Key to get the job.
 
Key has shown enough good traits to get an interview and be accepted by many fans if hired (with the right contract). He has also shown enough flaws, along with his inexperience, to not be our #1 choice.
 
Key is 4-3 as IHC and will finish at least .500. Two wins against ranked opponents, one with 3rd string QBs. That’s a solid resume leading a program that was in turmoil when he got the job. The QB situation easily could have derailed things, but it didn’t. That’s a big credit to Key and staff. Congrats coach, hope you’re able to enjoy the win.

It seems that the players that are already here have rallied behind him, that is a pretty good indicator of what the young men think of him. That impacts recruiting. Yes there have been some down weeks , but he is replacing garbage that is a major reason for the lack of consistency. I guess I’m a fan boy and full of öööö. Go Jackets!
