Why Brent Key should be HC

I would be extremely surprised if we make a bowl and he doesn't get the job.

Yeah, I thought about that. I'm just saying more what I'd like to see, not necessarily what's most realistic.

But another thing to consider is the hire will most likely be made fairly soon after the last regular season game. Can't underestimate the emotional impact if we lose like 55-7 to the dwags.

Most seasons I would agree but the Dwags might be so good this year that 55-7 is expected. If they beat the #1 team in the country by five touchdowns it will be tough to argue that the Georgia game this year should play any role at all in the decision.

Logically, yes. But you still have to sell people on the hire to some degree, and people are not going to be happy with a beatdown, even if it's inevitable.

What ifs - Pyron starts the UVA game, we’re 5-4 (4-2) in the Coastal, instead of 4-5 (3-3).

Miami is a winnable game, not sure about UNC, and doubtful we will defeat the semi-pro team over in Athens.
Then there is a chance that he is retained.... 6 wins will be hard not to retain him...

Miami
UNC
Georgia

Hard to see a path to six wins, however if he has the team finish 2-1 and 6-6...J Bats has to retain him.

To be honest, I’m not bringing him back for more than a 2 year deal if it happens. He hasn’t shown me enough. I feel like he has a poor feel for the game, especially knowing when to go for it or punt it. It’s improvement from CGC, but I think there is something to be said for us being happy to see some wins after whatever happened the last few years.

He should not be considered:
1. Losing to UVA and than not starting Zach Pyron at FSU
2. being blown out by a weak FSU team
3.The problem with this win is that VT only has two wins...We are more like a 2 win VT team than FSU team who is playing for bowl eligibility
Yeah, i'm sure CGC had zero to do with overall team performance. Describes the defense 100%. Grow up and think for yourself!

UGAg isn't going to beat Alabama 55-7.

This is where I'm at.

You have to look at the process. Is JBatt dumb enuff to not know that he's new to TECH? He's not going to try and factor in the 'what I'm I missing here?' component? Or he'll start overhauling us to be like UNC or Maryland? If he does he's an idiot.I'm sure he'll give CBK a serious interview and he'll make a serious decision but a lot of what goes down will be predicated on the nuances of being in a new environment and understanding you don't really know that much about it. Good interview/good rest of the year/ understanding you've already got a Tech guy in the bag will carry some weight.
