Worst fan base

The worst acting fan base (most whiney, mean, angry, etc.)

Honestly, Tech fans might be the worst. Ultra bitter (just look at the Gibbs thread), ridiculous expectations (no, we aren't going to compete with UGA or the SEC teams, get over it), arrogant, living in the past, old men typically. There's hope that the grads from 2000 to the present aren't as crotchety as the pre-1990 grads.
 
I know GT belongs somewhere on this list due to alumni indifference. I noticed a GT sticker on one of the members of my crossfit gym so I asked him if he was a GT alum and if he follows GT football and what does he think about the coaching change and subsequent 2-game winning streak? He replied "I graduated from GT but I dont follow GT football." My new (relatively) neighbor and his wife graduated from GT and they too could give two öööös about GT football. Our alumni are the worst.

Tech does not have the worst FANS; I give that to UGAg. But Tech sure does seem to have the worst FANBASE, what with all the whining and finger pointing and throwing under the bus.
 
No way in hell I'm voting any other than UGAg here because they are by far the worst. What other grown folks bark at people? But one fan base that I've never been able to stand is the UNC one. They have done less with more for many many years. Somehow they always seem to do well in recruiting but stink it up on the field, yet their fans act like they are some blue bloods. Maybe it's basketball rubbing off on them, idk, but they are terrible.

losing does that. If we start winning 8-10 games, they'll pay attention. Right now, it's embarrassing wearing my GT gear in public, just keeping it real.
 
Each fanbase has its bad element in that list, but I rank Miami ahead of UGA because at least UGA has a segment of its fanbase that have Southern manners and politeness.

As noted earlier, Miami attracted the New Jersey Guido types with their Thug U and such. In my interactions at BDS, Miami fans have been the absolute worst and it isn't even close.

Clearly dwags with Miami right behind. And not just the school but Miami fans in general, like the ones that left the Heat game early then banged on the doors to get back in when they tied it.
 
The "worst" fanbase the way YOU have defined it, is whatever is the largest and most vocal fanbase in whatever city and state that you happen to live in, so long as it's a team for which you do not also root.

The REAL worst fanbases are LSU, Auburn and Notre Dame because they all have a grossly over-inflated opinions of how entitled to winning they should be, and usually quickly pounce on their coaches and players when those unrealistic opinions are not reflected in reality. Texas, Tennessee and Ohio State are dishonorable mentions. And in basketball, it's Kentucky hands-down. Only Kansas and Dook even come close.

A friend of mine is a big u[sic]ga fan (didn't go there) and he complained all year last year about the mailman. Yes, all year last year when they won games by 30+ points and won the national championship.

Just keeping it real, you’re a bigger loser than 3-9 Tech teams under Geoff Collins. I’ve never felt embarrassed to wear any of my GT gear. Especially now. That’s your ööööing problem.

You should never be embarrassed to be associated with Georgia Tech. I'm as big of a football fan as anyone but there are plenty of things to love about GT besides the football team, and if you don't realize or care about that it's on you.

Also even aside from that, what type of a football fan is embarrassed to wear their team's gear in public? Talk about a bandwagoner...

Embarrassed to be associated with tech? Don't put words in my mouth. And sorry to burst your bubble, I don't see ANYONE wearing tech gear where I live in marietta (especially during football season). Losing does that. Brent Key might make me pull out my tech stuff though.

You seriously don't notice that no one wears duke or Vanderbilt gear except during basketball season?
