Correct. I typically agree Supersize.Tech does not have the worst FANS; I give that to UGAg. But Tech sure does seem to have the worst FANBASE, what with all the whining and finger pointing and throwing under the bus.
You left out Auburn. Put them and the U in place of us and that’s about how I would rank them.I expect Ugag to win this.. But, curious who we think has the most annoying, worst acting or such, fan base. I, personally, do not like the UNC folks. They are always rude and are overall terrible people, from my interactions.
It's in the best fanbase poll. Over here's the hypey girlie, fanboy, bedwetter, the neighbor's ööööing my wife version. There should be an choice for the option cultists/parasites.
One of my favorite Tech stories; the 1966 game vs Texas A&M. Gene Stallings was A&M coach, and was butt hurt because he was on the Bama staff in 1962 when Dodd broke their long win streak and ended their title hopes. During the summer, Stallings was talking crap about Dodd and Tech and saying Tech wasn’t tough enough, etc.I just realized, I forgot Texas A&M because I really consider them more of a cult than a fanbase. They're definitely #1, though, because they are so ööööing weird and culty.
The truth is, if they hadn’t gotten Ruiz to pony up all that money they were headed for FIU level. They have no fanbase, and looking at their crowds it reminds me of the old Fulton County stadium crowds when the Braves were awful.Miami takes the cake - it's like Jersey Shore that's liquored up, screaming "Da U", and trying to fight someone. Worst fanbase ever.
UNC is annoying, but it's more of a highbrow superiority complex thing.
Cavman would love to take you into the reading room at his summer chalet and discuss more with you over a nice bottle of Prosecco.I’d like to learn more about “mouth breeders”
Go to a graduation and you will realize that more than half of Tech’s grads care for their sports.Dude. I'm not talking about any weak alumni who are embarrassed we are bad. I'm talking about those that could care less if we're 12-0 or 0-12. If you havent noticed, that's probably more than half of the GT grads.
It goes back to "Saint" Ara Parseghian running up the score in the 1960s, Dan Devine doing the same in the 1970s with his dislike of Pepper, & so on.This. They became my favorite fanbase we ever face. I don't get the ND hate.
You must not live in Florida. They have tons of fans down here. Fair weather, yes. Nonexistent, no. They follow their team rabidly every year until they lose a couple games, then except for a handful of hardcore fans they're gone until the next year. Their tailgates are a blast but not for most women and definitely not for children. They're a strange bunch but if they ever rip off 6 or 7 wins to start the season, watch out they'll be out in droves and absolutely intolerable. The truth is, if they hadn’t gotten Ruiz to pony up all that money they were headed for FIU level. FSU fans are excellent people with great taste and hot women.Nobody going to mention FSU? My only contact with them was the 'Miracle on Techwood' and they seemed ok to me.
That makes sense then. I guess things have changed since they are not the dominant force they were in that time. Fanbases evolve. It goes back to "Saint" Ara Parseghian running up the score in the 1960s, Dan Devine doing the same in the 1970s with his dislike of Pepper, & so on.
When we played in South Bend in 1970, their "bellhop dressed ushers" were cussing at us on the sidelines. Their seats came right down to field level & the sidelines were barely five yards wide, if that. The ushers spent their energy cussing at us & telling us to take a knee so their patrons in rows 1-5 could see. Even our Catholic players, several of which had been recruited by ND, couldn't believe their behavior. We didn't, they couldn't, so they did.
Dirtiest college football team in that era? Notre Dame.
Just one (ex-Catamount) OldeFarTekker's perspective
Most Tech fans I know would rather the mutts not be competitivewho said anything about uga fans not wanting us to be competitive? Everyone wants their opponent to be competitive so they can look better when they beat them. We’re talking about average walmart mouth breeders being obnoxious pieces of öööö which is the majority of the fans that fill up their stadium.
I wonder how they rank Tech fans after the fish and glass bottle throwing at BDS?It goes back to "Saint" Ara Parseghian running up the score in the 1960s, Dan Devine doing the same in the 1970s with his dislike of Pepper, & so on.

Please expand a bit on this because I dont have any data to support my conjecture that GT alumni in general dont care much for GT sports. It's all based anecdotally upon observation of my peers while at GT who were mostly study nerds who were more interested in playing net-trek (good god, who remembers that network hog abomination of a game?) or if they were a sports fan, it was soccer (wtf). Too many foreigners who gave zero sheets about american football as well. So far, it's like 1 out of 5 alumni I run into even know who the football or basketball coach is.Go to a graduation and you will realize that more than half of Tech’s grads care for their sports.
I do live in Florida. They may have “tons” of fans in Dade and Broward Counties, but they must not know how to buy a ticket to a gameYou must not live in Florida. They have tons of fans down here.
