Worst loss in last 50 years?

Recruiting better is something coaches can do.
Only if you have deep pocket$ in the new NIL format of enticing players for their personal wealth.

GT struggled with the old rules where colleges couldn’t pay players—- or weren’t supposed to.

Realistic expectations.

Question not answered in my drunk post thread. HOW CAN YOU CLAIM ACADEMICS WHEN YOU ACCEPT PLAYERS FROM "DUMBASS SCHOOLS LIKE LOOSERVILLE(5-0) AND ANY OTHER NAMED SEC SCHOOL. It's a bullshit excuse. Prove me wrong.

"we have academic standards" accepts football players in the portal from literally all the schools tech fans talk öööö about in regards to academics.

I don’t even see one.
Yea, if someone sees a win, I'd like to know which game it is. Slight chance for beating BC, maybe, but I'd say they are a 2-3 point favorite.

We should be 11+ point dogs against Miami. It is gonna be ugly.

Miami is gonna break into our house, beat us with a baseball bat, and öööö our sister.

I predict a well played, contested game against Miami. We probably lose, but do not get blown out. That will make the 38-0 run by Bowling Green all the more unacceptable. That we thought one win over Wake Forest entitled us to overlook Bowling Green is pathetic.

If I were in Miami, and were forced to go to the game, I'd probably go wearing clothes that are neutral to avoid the after game walk of shame.

That's still a bullshit lie pathetic excuse. BG's coach was unhappy about having to play a non conference game between two MAC conference games. Said so in his presser. We are in the exact same boat. Non conference game sandwiched between two conference games.

BG was the better team. End of story. There was no overlooking anything. They physically dominated our defense. They owned the LOS. They mixed plays up and were balanced. We are adept at running about a minute and a half of clock, being way behind the sticks, before punting.

I have always joked when we have a team in a 2nd and 3rd and more than 10 yards that "they got us just where they want us". We showed yesterday, once again, that a 2nd or 3rd and long for the other team is more of a slight inconvenience to them. Pitch and catch to wide open WR's, TE's, RB's in the flats. QB lumbering for 15 to get a first down.

And hell, on offense, BG crowding the line and just working their asses off. They played a 3-4 and we were bumfuddled. Their DL held blocks, their LB's and Safeties had free lanes to create havoc. We NEVER attempted to correct. Didn't pull in a TE. We have no big back. No fullback. Nothing. A Mike Cox type player would have done a world of good as a lead blocker yesterday.

We don't run anything special on offense. The same basic shotgun/pistol as everyone else, only we aren't as good at it.

I miss seeing a QB going under center. Mixing it up. Have a FB and TB. BG ran heavy 2 TE sets pulled in tight. We spread the field like we were some air raid defense and they brought numbers and just tsunami'd us with defenders. We had no quick hot routes. Hell, I hate to make the comparison, but play that BG defense against UGAg and they score 63 in 3 quarters. Middle of the field wide ass open. Deep down field wide ass open. Edges wide ass open. They just dared us to respond to that heat and we didn't. Pathetic.

We have a bunch of bad losses. Citadel was a worse loss because of the level of competition.

Yesterday was especially bad because it was lack of effort and focus and BG was the better team on the field.

We lost to Furman a couple of times and one of those was awful. MTSU was bad. We lost to a bad Ted Roof coached Duke team.

No.

We lost to a 1-10 Memphis State team back in 1981 (42 years ago now, geeze!) by 13 points. Yesterday's loss was to a BGSU team that already has 2 wins on the season, and it was by 11 points.

They were down 14-6 to UoM at the half. UoM buried them in the 3rd. They were down 31-24 to Liberty in the 4th quarter.

BGSU can play, but we should have beaten them handily at the end. Our D could not make a single stop for two quarters.
