Burn your yellow flags and delete your posting account, if you feel that strongly about it. Personally, I'm going to root my team on with the 2004 Bobby Dodd NCAA Coach of the Year as my new head coach, or if he doesn't get the job, then whoever else does, even Muschamp.


We were lucky enough to have a big list of good candidates. Any one of them could be a good HC. You had to know some idiots would claim the end of the world as soon as one got picked, based on unsubstantiated rumor and handwaving freakoutery. We are Tech fans, after all.

PJ's defenses at GSU were pretty good, but they've always been his weekness at Navy. He just can't recruit players on D that can compete with many of the high powered offenses they face at a service academy. You simply can't do it. Besides he lost almost all of his D from last year, and many of the D starters this season got injured. He was basically left with scout team talent as starters on defense this season.

It's different on offense because the option he runs at Navy is an equalizer. The offense he runs there is different from the one he ran at GSU. The GSU version was much, much faster, as the skill players he could recruit at GSU were more talented than what he's got at Navy. He always had six or eight skill position kids at GSU who could run 4.4 or less in the 40. His QBs there all ran under 4.4.

PJ will recruit the smart kids. Don't worry about that. But he will find the fastest players he can, because he's all about offensive speed. What he has done with the players he's had at Navy is remarkable. I'd bet my paycheck that his NC GSU teams would have beat them by 20 or more.

Don't worry guys. GT will be in good hands with PJ. He'll run an offense that will be exciting, and he'll find the right guy to run his defense too. It may be Giff if he thinks he's ready. I'm confident that he'll keep him on the staff if Giff wants to stay.

If you look up and down the BCS school list, you will find that there are far more good offenses than there are good defenses. Look for him to put an offense on the field that scores 30 or 40 every game. If the D can hold their own every week, GT will win a lot of games under Johnson.

One other thing. PJ absolutely HATES TO LOSE!!! He takes it personally, and will always say that any loss is his fault.

That is ABSOLUTELY who we need, someone that hates to lose and refuses to. I think he can be very successful here but, he will need to make the same committment to defense, as he does to offense, recruiting hard for that side of the ball also.

What gets me jacked about Johnson is thinking about comparing what he's done at Navy, plugging our roster into that machine and seeing what comes out.

I can't imagine he's going to run Navy's offense here although it will take him some time to raise our offensive output to what it is capable of.

You guys want to know what lights a fire under a fan base? Winning! Sounds to me like too many of you are worried whether or not PJ will rub your head at some booster event. What do you want, a football coach or a cocktail party entertainer?

If he wins (which he will), you won't have to worry about filling BDS. Win and they will come!!!
 
If this is true (PJ is now the 4th HC that I've written in stone as the next HC), I will definitely give him a chance (which matters to 0 people out there, other than myself).

I will remain concerned about the offense that he will implement but at very least our offense will have an identity, which will be an improvement.

I got banned for calling them a bunch of losers over there after the ugag game. They were all making excuses and telling us to stay the course. It was typical Hive junk.

PJ is at SMU right now discussing the option of taking that job. So its not a done deal yet. Might be but not yet.

But hey yall speculate and don't listen to anything I say, after all I lie about things. LOL.
 
If PJ takes the job at SMU...so be it. I wouldn't even offer him more money to come here. I think he's sick of the whole "rebuilding" thing. GT is such a better job.

The insider on Rivals posted that about an hour back or so, so I was just wondering when Dem would come in here to confirm or deny.

I don't like posting for-pay info on a free site, and this may not be something Dem could comment on, but in the same post the insider said who the backup choice for us is... and he's in-state.
 
If PJ goes to SMU does WM or CH even reconsider? If not them, then who do we get?
