I’d let him train. You have 3 months to recruit and all acc OL grad transfer. Convince him to stay.

Who says he is taking any time?

And players help each other. He's still an experienced player and knows what it takes to succeed even when you are not the biggest guy. Young players need to know that. Not clear he is a net negative, not by a longshot.
I have no problem with him using the weight room, eating at the training table, asking the coaches for advice, perhaps getting instruction from them if they have the time. However, a player who has indicated he no longer desires to be part of the team should not be taking part in team drills and conditioning. I realize you all just love Braun, but if this was a third stringer player would be be allowed to continue with team drills? I think not.
Braun is a a grown man that needs to understand grown man decisions. If he is leaning towards staying, he needs to talk to coach. Otherwise, GT is not here to assure the training of another university's football player, which he essentially is now.

They are framing this as a business decision but there are reports that he is not really in tune woth the new staff, as well.

There are also reports that he was leaving anyways.

I give it less than 1% chance he does not go through with the transfer.

You say, "Boo hoo. he may give our secrets away to the enemy." That's silly in this case. What will he be able to report? "The dreaded Yellow Jacket Army has installed basic concepts common to many programs. They are believed to be planning to run and pass and RPO." That's it. Any detailed install will be in the fall. An opponent during Sept and Oct would be better off just watching Temple film.

We've kept the blueprint under wraps for this long, why risk it getting out now?

Also - is this a guarantee that he is gone or could this be a “listen up Tech.....admit me or else” type of move?
I think you are (sadly) overestimating the influence of the AA on grad school admissions. There's no place for ultimatums. Just polite requests and sleeve tugging.

We aren't in the business of giving a "what if" to someone with a stated desire to go somewhere else. If your girlfriend says she'd like to leave you and go elsewhere, but would like you to continue supporting her, I'd hope you'd tell her gtfo. He has a stated desire to go elsewhere. He needs to go. Best of luck and all that. Enjoyed watching him play, but that's it.
Yeah, but he's not Tech's girlfriend. If he decides it's a mistake, no reason not to welcome him back.

You mean you guys managed to watch all of our last two games?
I watch every play of every game. Sat in Athens for every single play. Thankfully got to watch the Detroit debacle on TV.

I have always had a hard time watching us on TV. I like to see the whole field. You see so much more in person.

To ban Parker from the training table, or the weight room while he is still enrolled and on scholarship would be a terrible look for the new staff. He has been a warrior in white and gold exactly the same as Marco Coleman, Tashard, Brent Key, or Nathan Burden. He gets to stay until he leaves.

I don’t see what the problem is. You’re not on the team and not part of the athletic program anymore if you’re planning on transferring.

There’s the CRC and health staff available on West Campus.

If they think there is a chance to get him to stay, I’d let him train. If it really is grad school admissions, I’d probably let him train. If he is set on leaving, I wouldn’t train or feed him. That is just business.

Oh brother, let him train. He is a Tech grad. And wish him the best.

Do they let other players leaving such as those working toward pro days? Right now he is the same guy.

Imagine if CPJ had not retired, but Braun transferred out anyway. There would have been lots of fingerpointing.

I think it's even simpler than that. If he's a distraction to the team in any way, regardless of his reason for leaving, he should not be there. If he isn't, then let him train. It's not like he bailed on Tech - he got out and is now making the best business decision for himself.
