Ohio State found the fix for athletes needing to attend classes:

I’m sure that certain posters will be along to let us know that this is an isolated example and that collegiate athletics is “amateur.” :bfd:

I don’t think that even the NCAA believes the scam anymore.

As long as the other students are allowed to take the same courses then we are good; online, fake, or what have you.
Yeah, is there anything to indicate that these online classes are only offered to athletes? There's a huge trend towards online classes, though they're obviously more popular at commuter schools. Based on this info, it doesn't sound like Ohio State is doing anything wrong.

Is this an indictment of college sports or of online classes? One could make the argument that most classes, especially in the majors that football players congregate in, could easily be online.

I tried to take one online class once and I hated it. Although it was a computer science class, so I'm sure mileage varies depending on what the class is.

Online classes are fine? I think the norm for the tests these days is your webcam has to be on and there's a proctor on the other side. The software that delivers the test probably audits you with screen captures and restricts windows & tabs. Yeah you can still find ways to cheat but it wouldn't surprise me if most of these were open book anyways

There was a player a decade or so ago who tried to transfer from Ohio State to Maryland and found that none of his credits would transfer. Ohio State is crooked as öööö.

Of course, the gaggers are pretty much the same.

I know a Ga Tech student taking intro to Spanish this semester online. It’s a legit GT course, not Atlanta Metro or anything. But let’s face facts, we need to start cheating like the factories if we want to compete against the factories. We need to process players, we need bagman to get the players in school, and we need to do whatever it takes to graduate them. ATL baby.

There are high school students who take Georgia tech classes online.
