When he’s staying home there is a much lower risk of someone on the other side of campus calling him the N-word and him hearing about it second hand and having to find another school on a hardship waiver.Ohio State found the fix for athletes needing to attend classes:
Yeah, is there anything to indicate that these online classes are only offered to athletes? There's a huge trend towards online classes, though they're obviously more popular at commuter schools. Based on this info, it doesn't sound like Ohio State is doing anything wrong. As long as the other students are allowed to take the same courses then we are good; online, fake, or what have you.
An isolated example of what? Online classes aren't unique to athletes.I’m sure that certain posters will be along to let us know that this is an isolated example and that collegiate athletics is “amateur.”
I don’t think that even the NCAA believes the scam anymore.
By what stretch of the imagination is this a violation of NCAA rules? This is such a blatant violation of NCAA rules by THE Ohio State that UCF will get the death penalty.
Maybe it isn't, but it makes it far easier for someone else to do Justin's homework and take his tests.By what stretch of the imagination is this a violation of NCAA rules?
I would venture that when these classes came into existence it was done so by "publish or perish" profs - not football coaches.
I know a Ga Tech student taking intro to Spanish this semester online. It’s a legit GT course, not Atlanta Metro or anything. But let’s face facts, we need to start cheating like the factories if we want to compete against the factories. We need to process players, we need bagman to get the players in school, and we need to do whatever it takes to graduate them. ATL baby.Online classes are fine? I think the norm for the tests these days is your webcam has to be on and there's a proctor on the other side. The software that delivers the test probably audits you with screen captures and restricts windows & tabs. Yeah you can still find ways to cheat but it wouldn't surprise me if most of these were open book anyways

Good.Just about our entire team takes online classes in the summer or fall from Atlanta Metro
So you can get a degree from Duke having taken less than half your courses at Duke.Good.
Duke is doing the same btw. They can take up to 9 hours of non-Duke classes per semester.
What’s your deal? Why put that evil on me?This is such a blatant violation of NCAA rules by THE Ohio State that UCF will get the death penalty.
