Rumors

Brent Key will jump ship, in my opinion. I don’t think we are losing that much. If he was “great”, Sa(t)an could have easily paid him to stay. I could be wrong, but he already came close once.
He could and I hate to think this could happen but if CGC does stay one more year I'm not sure he won't make key OC and let Key hire a QB coach. That should send chills up you back.

Per Schultz/The Athletic: Patenaude and Thacker's contract expire at the end of this season. There is no buyout to not retain either. Six coaches have active contracts: Dixon, Key, Choice, Caralla, Coleman, and Knight. Everybody else had their contract expire with this season.

We scored no points in the final two games. If Paterdude isn't öööö canned we will need to put @Diseqc on suicide watch.

How many games have we failed to score an offense TD over the last three years? Is it getting better or worse? Because we have 3 off the top of my head. We are light years worse than we were in 2017, which was a horrible year.

Watching a lot of other football today and we are soft. We lack aggression and that mean streak that is needed. Our coach is a puss and not sure if the S&C coach is cutting it or not.
Soft, lacking aggression and a mean streak. Could not have described it any better myself.

Two telling examples stood out for me. The untouched TE for a 75 yd TD, and the 50 yd TD down the sideline where our guy tried to push out if bounds and then couldnt make the tackle for the double fail.

Very good observation sir.

Collins has built the program based on hype alone. Nothing about this team impressed me this year.

I can't say this. I was impressed following our tenacious effort against Clemson and the win over Carolina. I still think that people who were claiming at that point that the team's play was indistinguishable from years 1 and 2 were full of öööö, and against UNC it actually looked like we were figuring out how to gameplan. But over the course of the remainder of the season, that not only stagnated but began rapidly deteriorating, culminating in the Notre Dame game where all but the most senseless and involuntary hope was summarily executed on national television. That is more troubling to me than if I felt now that I had gotten the full picture in the NIU game.

I saw this posted on FB, and then a separate FB friend messaged me that whoever originated that posted it on the site from which I was banned ---

"Meetings tomorrow. TStan and the money. TStan and Collins. Collins and the team.
Thacker, Burton and more (Patenude) are gone. Key might resign.
TStan is hitched to Collins. If Collins is canned next year, TSTAN goes with him. TStan told $$ he thought keeping CGC would hold recruiting class together.
The internal thinking is to upgrade the assistants and hold onto the recruiting class."

I can't believe that all of those "money" guys are stupid. I bet at least some of them are ready to cut the cord NOW. I would love to be a fly on the wall at that particular meeting.

Why would Key resign? One of those you’re fired no I quit type deals?

Not sure I agree with hitching Stansbury to Collins' fate next season. The GTAA has been operating in a different universe from the abject broad failure that was the Bobinsquatch mis-administration. Most of the sports are doing well, several at historic highs. Baseball FINALLY got some heads rolled in the assistant coaching ranks. Maybe Pastner has learned from his past mistakes. There's reason to believe in the mission and leadership even if the football program is at a generational nadir.
