Rumors

If rumors above are true, do most of you think with that many possible changes that CGC can really hold onto his entire recruiting class & also not see possible significant talent leave via portal?

Not sure I agree with hitching Stansbury to Collins' fate next season. The GTAA has been operating in a different universe from the abject broad failure that was the Bobinsquatch mis-administration. Most of the sports are doing well, several at historic highs. Baseball FINALLY got some heads rolled in the assistant coaching ranks. Maybe Pastner has learned from his past mistakes. There's reason to believe in the mission and leadership even if the football program is at a generational nadir.

I agree with you. From what I heard, the $$ gave TStan a free pass to distance himself from Geoff, & he chose otherwise. If true, that would definitely call into question, in my mind, his discernment.

Soft, lacking aggression and a mean streak. Could not have described it any better myself.

Two telling examples stood out for me. The untouched TE for a 75 yd TD, and the 50 yd TD down the sideline where our guy tried to push out if bounds and then couldnt make the tackle for the double fail.

Very good observation sir.
They don’t know what they are doing and don’t believe in what they are doing.

I think the names that come in will matter and how long it takes will also be a factor.

If the rumors are true, who are some OC and DC candidates that realistically we could see being interested in coming here?

Bill O’Brian? looking for a next HC position?
I don't think Satan is going to fire him. And if not, why would he leave Bama to come here for the same position?

He's going to get a HC gig somewhere. If not this year, then the next.

I would love to have him come back here as HC. He is a professional football coach. He inherited two programs in PSU and Houston that had become different kinds of messes and he won in both places. The Texans were fools for firing him for the poor start in Covid-2020.

But we do not have an opening at HC, so that does not appear to be in the cards.

lets say he stays, and we go ahead and fire Collins, depending on how Bamma play the rest of this year and next, that could and should be a focus hire. I want to see collins succeed but it doesn’t look like it’s in his cards yet.

Cause the last offensive guy we got from Bama that we'd mainly like cause of past GT connection has worked out so well.

Bill O'Brien destroyed the Texans trying to be a GM, he's not good with Talent and isn't known to be a good Recruiter.

After working at Penn State, Bama, and in the NFL , BoB likely thinks he's worth $7million per year, far out of our Price range

I saw this posted on FB, and then a separate FB friend messaged me that whoever originated that posted it on the site from which I was banned ---

"Meetings tomorrow. TStan and the money. TStan and Collins. Collins and the team.
Thacker, Burton and more (Patenude) are gone. Key might resign.
TStan is hitched to Collins. If Collins is canned next year, TSTAN goes with him. TStan told $$ he thought keeping CGC would hold recruiting class together.
The internal thinking is to upgrade the assistants and hold onto the recruiting class."

I can't believe that all of those "money" guys are stupid. I bet at least some of them are ready to cut the cord NOW. I would love to be a fly on the wall at that particular meeting.
The ‘money guys’ wanted Collins and, like TStan, were tricked by his used cars salesman hype BS. I’d assume the more business mined money guys know they need to can Collins & Co now. The more engineer minded boosters don’t want to admit the experiment they funded failed and they wasted money. So, we are getting this compromise of not renewing a few staff members but keeping Collins.

Here is my take, and only that. Collins is the problem. Until the right people acknowledge that, we are going to be seeing more embarrassing performances while he pitches his culture.
