THE OFFICIAL Firing, House Cleaning, Night of Long Knives, Celebration, Disappointment Thread.

As fans what "work" do we have to do? We don't play the games and we don't practice with the team.

For the record I'm not on Twitter so you can stow that criticism.

I'm not here to spread misery, I'm here to remind everyone of empirical reality. Clown Shoes can recruit impressively, but that's about it.

I was furious with Bark Madley when he likened Clown Shoes to Butch Jones in 2019. Now I think that's unfair to Jones.

What in the last three years makes you think anything will be any different?
I think I understand who you really are now that you've brought Bark Madly into the conversation, mutt.

Here's a name drop to establish my bona fides as a Tech grad.
I did Civil Engineering and favorite professor was Emkin.
Jjacket apparently didn't go to Tech, so your bona fides will mean nothing to him. In response to your previous question

What might make a difference is the staffing changes that are upcoming/underway.

I've been down on CGC from about half-way through season 1; I never bought into the 'biggest rebuild' baloney; and I think his game management is horrible. But every good leader will tell you their best successes are due to the quality people supporting them.

If CGC happens into/lucks into/is blessed by God with good hires this off-season, we could certainly show major improvement next year. We have plenty of decent players – just need better coaching – and who knows it is possible we will get it with some fresh blood.

As to the "cleaning house" the remaining fans were looking forward to, it not only didn't happen, the AD did his Collins rendition of up yours to you. He might as well of just sent huge gifts to the rest of his colleagues in the ACC and his butt buddy up the road in Athens. Yay, another year of disaster in 2022. Surprised he didn't say he was letting the water girl go so he can say he was "cleaning house". Some cleaning - Key remains, Thacker - he of shredded defenses - remains. In fact, considering the graduations, we will probably be worse next year than this, which is actually hard to believe when you think about it.

I don't give a flying frogs ass where he went to school. Part of our problem, as GT football fans, is the looking down our nose at anyone who potentially could be a fan. GT football has the image of being snobbish little know it all nerds. Doesn't help when a snobbish know it all nerd proves any potential fans right by being a snobbish asshole.

But good for you guys. Run off the recruits we are recruiting now being idiots. Run off the fanbase. Run off everyone. None of y'all are putting up the cash to do anything because most of you whiners are cheap bastards who are happy to cry, stamp your feet, complain, and wait for OTHER people to fund your tantrum.

The rational ones know Collins isn't going anywhere untill the end of next season, at earliest, and would much rather not have to read your same, repetitive bullshit for the next 8 months.

Did you attempt to secure the funding to buy Collins out? Did you call Zelnak to see if he would find it for you? Did you cash your 401k to do it? Sell the house? We don't have the damn money. You're like an impetulant child demanding mommy buy you an expensive toy when she doesn't have the money. Just keep demanding what you aren't gonna get or, get the öööö over it.

Most of us snobbish little know it all nerds are intelligent and disciplined enough to ignore repetitive bullshit that we don't want to waste our time reading, instead of crying about it. YMMV.

And, yes, I WILL have fries with that.

I always hear that GT alumni are snobbish towards non-grad fans, but is this actually a real thing that has ever happened? I think it's cool when someone is a GT fan who didn't attend the school, there's something old-school/charming about it. It's like being a legit Boston Red Sox or Chicago Cubs fan back before they had their recent success. And it means they're probably either related to alumni or they're legit Atlanta people. I mean, I'm still a diehard fan of my family's college even though I didn't go there, and I probably have more of a connection than a lot of the actual alumni. I just don't see where non-alums are being turned off by anything other than the lack of success in sports.

Quit being a pompous ass. JJ is way more committed to Tech than many of the Tech alum I know. We need more sidewalk fans like him. Georgia is rich as hell because of their vast sidewalk fanbase.
I have a coworker who is not a UGA grad who spends $10k a season just to keep his seats at Sanford and Sons stadium. Those guys don't care if you are a grad or not. They are a machine dedicated to football. We continually shoot ourselves in the foot to their advantage, starting with Bobby Dodd gifting them the state in the early 60's

A yuge percentage of Tech admi$$ion$ are now from Asia for that $weet, $weet, full out-of-$tate tuition with no financial aid.

Asian population is 18.9% (if that is a big % for you/or not).

Even teams like Alabama have struggled with student attendance. Not unique to GT, but throw in 3, 3 win seasons and yeah, student support is going to be low. A rising senior at GT has had some putrid football to watch (if they cared at all).

This is a bigger deal than GT alumni snobbery (which does exist to a degree). If you had zero connection to GT, it would be hard to be a fan--especially the last 5 seasons. Compounding the issue of course, is the dwags on their best run in 40 years. Not too mention the potential sidewalk fans being inundated w/all things dwags in this state.

So yeah, we need (many) more JJackets. Even if he comes across callous at times.
