2023/24 Coaching Carousel

Was that the coach who ignored sexual assault that they hired to replace the prior coaches who ignored sexual assault?
Male on female sexual assault is easier to sweep under the rug than male on male. Not the way it should be but a fact of life.

You commit to the schools not the coach. The school is who honors your commit.
Come on. That’s not how this works and never has. You know that.

If the kids were committed to the school, then there wouldn’t be 1 year renewed athletic scholarship’s by the school. It would truly be 4 years guaranteed with an option for a 5th.

Point of the article is valid. People (including coaches) want to complain non stop about how the Portal and NIL are ruining CFB, yet coaches up and leave overnight. Saban retiring is not the same thing as Fisch supposedly walking in last night and telling the Arizona players in a 2 minute meeting “Good luck, Im off to Washington“ after being one of the many complaining about the state of CFB.

well....yeah.
Not that I agree with him. Or respect him in any way at all. I don't, and I don't.
But that's his stance, and in the days of NIL and the portal, unfortunately, he might be right. I've always countered with what if the coach goes to the NFL - the S/A can't immediately follow him. That's why you choose a school and a coach.

Didn’t everyone universally hate the job he did as Bama OC? Why would Ohio State go after him?

I honestly think it might be a backup HC hire. My theory: Ryan Day was told this guy is gonna be on your staff. If you lose a game he will take over. No pressure.

not Saban
his QB won the Heisman and Bama was Nat champ.
there were detractors the following year with no natty
He didn't win a natty as Alabama OC. He was with Saban and Belichick for a total of 8 years as OC and didn't win any championships.

you're right that Bama lost the 21-22 natty to UGA after Young won the Heisman. Stiil O'brien had a decent record. Over the course of O’Brien’s two years as OC, Alabama had a record of 24-4 and averaged over 41 points per game.
