2023/24 Coaching Carousel

Prime has now lost both his OC (Sean Lewis) and DC (Charles Kelly). Combine that with simply using the Portal to build a roster again, and it won’t end well in Boulder. HS recruiting is still the staple to build a roster. Look at the top 5 teams for proof.

And Kelly is leaving a DC job to go be a position coach at the Barn

From my Auburn friends, he's going to the co-DC. Either Auburn's DC is being put on notice, or Kelly is doing this for pure desire to work with his alma mater.

I wonder if he would be willing to be an analyst for a season here? And if we could afford him. Probably will be getting offers for a title promotion at some other schools.
What could they honestly be paying him at Ohio State? I mean with what they pay Hartline, how much is left for a position guy?

Spot on statement regarding coaching changes vs players leaving via the Portal, and the hypocrisy of everything right now.

“For those who whine and complain about how the transfer portal is negatively changing college football, for coaches who moan about roster management, Fisch is just the latest example of a coach upending college football players’ lives for his own gain.

If coaches can do it, players should be able to do it - and who knows - maybe half of Arizona’s roster follows Fisch to Seattle. Welcome to College Football 2024.”

You commit to the schools not the coach. The school is who honors your commit.

Ahhh ... attempting to explain the intricacies of commitment on ST, a board where 90% of the members are divorced, and those are the happy ones.
I’m not aware of any surveys being performed, but I imagine a 90% divorce rate is a bit high. I would guess the StingTalk rate would be 50% divorced 20% widowers 30% married.
