2012 Recruiting Thread

I haven't seen any talk about Brenden Motley on here. He is down to only 2 schools, VT and GT and may commit soon.

6'4" & 186lbs ... kid is a stick. Are we offering him as a QB? He's gonna have to bulk up to play QB here.

He's a good athlete and has the grades. Not sure if he'll get a shot at QB with that size, but he plays FS as well so that's a plus. I think if we do get him, he will most likely end up at receiver.

I wouldn't get too hung up over his weight as a junior in high school. He has good height and his body will change a lot over the next 3 years.

May is usually a bit slow. Hopefully GT picks up a few commits in June when they have all those camps.

Shadrach Thornton is a 2012 athlete out of Georgia that is drawing attention from many schools in the South and one paid a visit to his school recently.

"Georgia Tech was at our football banquet this week and that was cool. Coach [Lamar] Owens came down to check on me and I was a little surprised by that," said Shadrach Thornton.
"I had not been hearing a lot from Georgia Tech, so I was not expecting someone from them to be at our banquet. I got to talk to him on the phone after he left and he told me they have a lot of interest in me."
"He has not offered me yet I don't think, but he did tell me to keep doing what I am doing in the classroom and in football, and he would love to have me at Georgia Tech. He told me that he would love to have me playing for him at Georgia Tech, so I know he liked me a lot." Thornton, a 6-foot-1, 190 pound athlete out of Hinesville (GA) Liberty County is being primarily as a running back. Not only is he hearing from Georgia Tech, but he is hearing from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Stanford. "
