Look at Paul Johnson’s last 2 seasons. There’s a reason he “retired” Genius.
Was it because he won as many ACC games in his last year as we have won in the last 2 seasons combined?

Army doesn’t have a single player on their roster over 300 lbs. If you think they recruit the kind of players to win The ACC I feel sorry you. I hope you have a financial fiduciary.
What do you want me to look at that you think proves any point you are tring to make? The 2017 had four 4-star recruits, all on defense, and was ranked 41st, better than our current class. The 2018 class had three 4-star recruits. The 2019 only had two, but ranked the same as our current class.Look at Paul Johnson’s last 2 seasons. There’s a reason he “retired” Genius.

To call you a moron would imply an increase in your intelligence.
Are you trying to double down on stupid? Yes they recruit the student body; but they also recruit kids out of high school. This is a dumb take thinking they only pull from the student body.

Now that’s a new one. Good grief… and you believe that? The reason is that he was being slowly starved for support $$ needed to improve recruiting and other aspects of the program. He saw that the donors were trying to let him know without being up front about it - it is called passive aggressive tactics.
I am in no way saying that CPJ was ever going to recruit at a top 30 level - he was not. But, he did not need to if he could get the right players he needed. Some of that would have required a more national approach to recruiting, which cost money and requires more people.
Can everyone please read this and commit it to memory.

I was wondering about that kind of stuff. Is there anything different do NIL for them to I wonder.I found this interesting tidbit too, I didn't know the service academy guys could hit the portal:
- According to Bill Wagner at the Capital Gazette, Navy wide receivers Devin Matthews and Tyshawn Buckner, and cornerback David Miller, have entered the transfer portal. Matthews caught three passes this past season and started twice.
This has to be a troll job - you can't possibly be this tangentially moronic.
You are the only jackass saying this: "Yes they recruit the student body; but they also recruit kids out of high school. This is a dumb take thinking they only pull from the student body. "
There are only 2 options here:
1. You possess literally zero reading comp. skills or
2. You're a pathetic troll.
Do you not grasp the fact that, regardless of who's coach and what system is run, there are kids who line up to attend service academies every year? That is what is meant by "they recruit themselves". Not sure where you're going with "yes, student body and yes, kids out of high schools". That's both redundant and completely missing the point.
I'm going to assume you're not a complete moron and that you are aware of the size restrictions that the US Military has and that your silence on that point equates to tacit agreement.
bottom line: Recruiting at the service academies isn't difficult.
The Army football team wooed recruits this year with an alcohol-fueled party, a dinner date with female cadets, cash from boosters and VIP treatment on a party bus complete with cheerleaders and a police escort, documents obtained by The Gazette show.
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., which acknowledged the misconduct to The Gazette, disciplined 20 cadets for promoting underage drinking and other misdeeds and self-reported a recruiting violation to the NCAA.
He’s undisputedly one of the most successful coaches at GT. It was a neat trick and a good idea before all the defenses had figured out how to defend it.Quite a few fans were thrilled with 2018 and consider it one of the pinnacles of college football. A few of 'em are in this thread. PJ's lasting legacy is a worshiping of mediocrity. It's even here, where not-beating-a-P5-team since 2017 is bizarrely seen as a sign of success.
Amazing how GT fans associate winning a few more ACC games with success. Collins may not make it, bit CPJ wasn't exactly doing a bang up job those last few years. He would have been gone sooner had JT5 decided to play corner for AlabamaWas it because he won as many ACC games in his last year as we have won in the last 2 seasons combined?
His great success is the same winning % as Gailey. He’s undisputedly one of the most successful coaches at GT. It was a neat trick and a good idea before all the defenses had figured out how to defend it.
But once they did, the strategic advantage and element of surprise was gone and it was our players vs. “Their players”, there was no contest. “Their players” were consistently bigger, stronger and faster because not enough good players wanted any part of the 3/0. That fact was proven every single February, over and over.
the guy couldn't recruit locally over 11 years here. What makes you think he'd succeed (or have much interest in) recruiting nationally?
Even after the national exposure years of 2009 and 2014, we didn't see a noticeable uptick in recruiting, locally or nationally. No matter the $$, 3*+ kids just didn't want to play for PJ.
Now that’s a new one. Good grief… and you believe that?
Does it ever actually cross any of you guys minds that if the 3/0 is so good, why isn’t it run in the NFL? I don’t see any teams in college football’s undisputed best conference (the SEC) running the 3/0.
Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson and Notre Dame are good football programs. Are their coaches just too dumb to understand how to run the 3/0?
Let it go. The TO is dead and will with 99% certainly never be run on The Flats again.
Thanks goodness.

I don't know if it is possible at this point to convince you that the service academies actually recruit players; but here is article from a while back when Army got caught for recruiting violations. It is very difficult to get into the academies, pulling an entire roster from the student body would probably look a lot like what it would if GT tried to do that, it would be way worse than an FCS roster.
