2022 Season Ticket Thread

Just found out that I have to call the athletic department to get my stinger seats removed so that sucks

I just renewed my pair. I like my seat, even though my section (127) has been mostly abandoned by Tech fans and given over to visitors, so I don’t want to lose it. Hopefully there will be better days ahead.

I will be renewing my 6 tickets. Likely will be a couple we will be short a few people for (kids sports), but want to keep my seats a bit longer. Hoping for the best this season, but enough hard time as a Tech fan has taught me not to be optimistic...Regardless, I'll be there, yelling my a$$ off, trying to set an example for my kids.

Renewing, but this is the first year since I started that I actually sat down and thought about it.

I can only make a couple games a year, but always thought of keeping up the streak as an investment for 20-30 years down the line when they’d be harder to get. Starting to wonder if that was a pipe dream now.

Yeah, I’m starting to think that it was. It’s shocking to look at games from 15 or 20 years ago and see the stadium packed with Tech fans. For the last 5 or 10, we’ve looked more like a mid-major playing on a Tuesday night. I can’t help but think there might not be a bounce back from where we are now.

I made the painful decision to not renew my 2 season tickets. We worked the math out to about $80/per ticket per game. Add in the cost of gas and ~$20 parking, it just didn’t make economic sense. For most of the games I can bring 2 young kids and pay about $80 total. Every game except for the Clemson and Ole Miss games, there will be a ton of tickets available for almost free. Since most of the seats will be empty, it doesn’t make any sense either to reserve good seats. We largely sat anywhere we wanted to last season anyway (and there was more hope then).

I still plan on going most weekends and getting my kids involved with Tech football. I think it’s important now more than ever to get them interested because it’ll give them more appreciation when Tech bounces back. I might make a donation to the AT Fund if I see that they’re going to fire Collins at some point in the season. Overall, I’m sad this was even a thought that crossed my mind let alone an action I would take. Almost all of my friends are making the same decision.

Doing the math was a mistake.

By the time the season starts, I’ll have 5 kids ranging from the age of newborn to 7yo. I’m the sole income provider as well. Had no choice but to do the math.
No doubt, man. No judgment.

Point being, anyone doing the math won’t buy tickets. If you want to go to a game you can do so for pretty much free and sit where you please, because demand is that low.

Edit to add: congrats on all the sex

The math has never made real sense but at least when we were better or there was hope, I could convince myself and my wife that it would be worth getting season tickets over buying them right before the game. Whether it was due to reserving seats for an in-demand game, watching Tech play at a high level in a great seat, or we might have a chance to knock off someone really good, it all felt worth it.

I’m hoping Collins turns it around and we win a ton of games this year. I’ll gladly look like an idiot for thinking he couldn’t get it done.

5 kids I'm surprise you had time to do any math. :)

Just got an email from a ticket rep. So am I correct in assuming that the Clemson game is not included in the Season Ticket package, or am I reading too much into this? Email text below:

As your ticket sales and service rep for all things Georgia Tech Athletics, I wanted to make sure you’re prepared for the renewal process set to begin this week for the 2022 Football Season.
Key Dates:
  • Thursday, February 10th – 2022 Football Renewal Process will launch, additional information to be sent same day once renewals are live
    • Tuesday, February 22nd – Early renewal loyalty discount of $25 per ticket expires (doesn’t apply to already discounted seats)
Have you seen our benefits for the 2022 season?
  • (New!) - 10% discount on tour admission tickets to the College Football Hall of Fame
    • (New!) - 15% discount on admission tickets to the Illuminarium Atlanta
    • $25 off per seat if you renew before February 22nd
    • Priority access to parking, away tickets, and other exclusive benefits
    • Guaranteed access to Clemson game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
    • VIP Service experience with dedicated sales and service team

Got hilarious email from GTAA warning me to get my tickets quick before the general public gets its opportunity to snap them all up.

Sad to see Tech reach such a self-imposed low point. Maybe the ticket sales this year will show people above Stansbury that we need to start from scratch.

So looking at my renewal form it lists Clemson tickets as "upper level".

Home game my ass. We traded a home game for a neutral site Chick-fil-A kickoff game. Who does that?

My seats are in 111 and I thought it said lower level for Clempson this year. I certainly don't have many AT points.

Did you get lower level for UNC last year?

Edit: confirmed; my renewal indicates lower level for Clempson.

Everyone got lower-level for UNC last year, upper level was closed. If this were actually a home game, you wouldn't be putting any season ticket holders in the upper level. Pretty obvious this is a neutral site game. Wow.

i wonder how little could be spent on tix and parking to every game next year if you bought tix strickly off stub hub the week of ...
