My advice to mom would be: shut off social media, both for your son's sake and the parent's sanity. Not trying to hurt your feelings but social media works both ways. This staff hired digit heads to "brand" and market players social media presence. That presence works both ways. If you are a high profile, Heisman candidate it can make you money for your endorsement. 90% of the players are not "high profile". If your expectations are that you take all the accolades with none of the negativity, I believe you need to rethink what you are going to see on the internet. I would argue you see this at ALL schools. Perhaps more so at winning programs. There is a guy in my office who said the internet was melting down after Oregon beat his Ohio State. I asked him if he was insane, they lost one game. I also recall hell breaking loose almost annually at Auburn, where they fire coaches going 10-2 or 11-1 or sometimes even undefeated. Supporting and cheering for your team is not in question here, or else no one would be posting, they would have disappeared long ago. I don't think many calling for changes want Tech to lose or hate Collins as a human, we certainly don't hate the players. We are calling for the staff to cut the crap and all the distractions and noise and raise expectations, prepare the team, make needed changes. This was a year, as many have been, that the Coastal is there for any team that can step up. O'Leary had arguably worse facilities, worse academic restrictions and made it work. Please post names of programs where all is well, nirvana has arrived and there is no negativity. Shut it off, forget the brand awareness and play football.
