A Player’s Mom Speaks

And calls out all of you whiny ass fans.

My advice to mom would be: shut off social media, both for your son's sake and the parent's sanity. Not trying to hurt your feelings but social media works both ways. This staff hired digit heads to "brand" and market players social media presence. That presence works both ways. If you are a high profile, Heisman candidate it can make you money for your endorsement. 90% of the players are not "high profile". If your expectations are that you take all the accolades with none of the negativity, I believe you need to rethink what you are going to see on the internet. I would argue you see this at ALL schools. Perhaps more so at winning programs. There is a guy in my office who said the internet was melting down after Oregon beat his Ohio State. I asked him if he was insane, they lost one game. I also recall hell breaking loose almost annually at Auburn, where they fire coaches going 10-2 or 11-1 or sometimes even undefeated. Supporting and cheering for your team is not in question here, or else no one would be posting, they would have disappeared long ago. I don't think many calling for changes want Tech to lose or hate Collins as a human, we certainly don't hate the players. We are calling for the staff to cut the crap and all the distractions and noise and raise expectations, prepare the team, make needed changes. This was a year, as many have been, that the Coastal is there for any team that can step up. O'Leary had arguably worse facilities, worse academic restrictions and made it work. Please post names of programs where all is well, nirvana has arrived and there is no negativity. Shut it off, forget the brand awareness and play football.

Mom doesn't need advice from a POS like you.

I hope the mods nuke this thread. You shouldn't post stuff like this in here for all the world to see. This is how you turn potential recruits off. Leave the parents post's in tweeterville where they belong.

Obviously, she may. If she is reading tweets, the point was to just shut it down. Go for a walk, relax, and don't get caught up in social media. Of course, if the head coach would give that advice the team may be less distracted.

No, the point was that what people say on social media affects recruiting. And as the mother of a player, she knows more than you.

When she’s been a fan for 40 years, I’ll have even more respect for her opinion. For now, it’s actually kind of low. She’ll quit being a fan as soon as her little cupcake (who is actually a pretty badass cupcake) leaves town.

Fine. But that isn’t the point. The point is to not turn potential recruits off by being a whiny little bitch. That has nothing to do if she will be a fan after her son leaves.

Damn y’all dumb.

So being a whiny little bitch is bad?

Damn. Why haven’t I ever thought of that?!?!

No, her point was you assholes keep it up and players like my son won't decide to come to GT. Do you think players do no recon on what they are getting into when it comes to a fanbase? You guys are nothing but whiney ass bitches. Why would anyone want to play for bitchy little nerds like you?

What I’m coming to realize is that the whiners here don’t care because they WANT the team to look bad. Like @jts1207 and Pastner, these people want CGC to fail and they wouldn’t care if we won the rest of this season’s games and won a bowl. Their minds are made up and they aren’t changing them.

I don't blame her if she quits being a fan. Wouldn't you? However, if we build a program, why wouldn't she continue to be a fan with her son?

This fan base isn't terribly different from any other fan base going through another losing season.
How many other fan bases don't have a lot of whining on message boards right now? What do you think Virginia Tech or Florida or Texas fans are doing right now?
I can imagine Georgia fans are whining that Turdby didn't cover yesterday against Mizzou.

We don’t support losers around here.

Let me guess or Citadel or MTSU or Kansas?
I figured Paul Johnson retired back to North Carolina, but apparently he’s been living rent free inside the head of every Geoff Collins fan on this board. It’s OK that Collins and his staff are complete öööö, because we lost to MTSU like ten years ago. Right?

Keep sucking down that clown dick, bro.

Sorry pal!

Your 40 year fandom, has no bearing on this issue.

She's the Mom of a P5 Recruit, and she's seen the P5 HCs come in her living room and offer up the sales pitches to sign her Son, HER SON has been on the Camp Circuit with other P5 Recruits, she has inside knowledge on what Recruits & Parents say, YOU DON'T.

On this issue, your 40 yrs of Fandom never should've been mentioned, in fact you never should've made your comment above
