Adidas outbid Nike for the Jackets contract

This will be a bigger deal in basketball recruiting than football recruiting.

1) No blue pants ever.

2) Blue jersies should always have white numerals. Think 1990 jersies or even better, 2006 ACCCG jersies with white pants. Blue uniforms in 2008 peach bowl and 2014 orange bowl didn't look like Tech. Generally, when we wear blue as a primary (which should be rare), the other primary should always be white with gold as the accent.

3) gold jerseys should always have white numerals trimmed in Navy. Best examples of this were 1999-2002 era alternates.

4) we wore white jerseys with gold numerals (navy trim) from 1998-2002. The 1998 jerseys are still my all-time favorite. I like the gold numeral alternate jersey.

5) white helmets are better sans honeycomb... but I agree it is subtle enough not to be a burden. Also like that we haven't junked them up with navy.
Agree on all accounts, but we need a little darker shade of gold to pull off #3. The '99 Gator Bowl jerseys were great, but were impossible to read in the sun.

I prefer the navy be very dark, almost black. This helmet gold is good but I would like to see more metallic flake to make it sizzle a bit.

I think people originally circle jerked the Calvin jersey because during the Chan era for some ridiculous reason we wore pale urine jerseys at home as the standard instead of our traditional whites.

Gold/white/gold should always be the default.

People circle jerked be a use Chan gailey was out coach and we needed a distraction. Yes I know that uniform was in Chan's best year. My point still stands.

that white hat was dead sexy, though.

Which is what we had last year.
Which is what we should have every year.

I actually like this uniform a lot. The only thing I'd change is adding a navy stripe on the shoulders.

It will be interesting to see where Adidas takes the program: if we become a traditionalist, unified pattern kind of school or an experimental school. I'd love something that emphasizes both the history of the program and the leading edge innovation of the school. Hard balance!

The throwbacks just looked so sharp under the lights. I remember even the SC anchor commented on it during the highlights, back when SC used to be about sports.

I'm fine with gold/white/gold by default, but I'd love to see the throwbacks come back for a big night game once a year or so.

Well, it's not Nike, but at least it's not UA...

“I think a lot of kids, to be honest, they don’t choose Maryland unless they play in like an Under Armour system coming up,” said Durant, who signed a $300 million deal with Nike in 2014. “Shoe companies have a real big influence on where these kids go. Nobody wants to play in Under Armours, I’m sorry. The top kids don’t because they all play Nike.”

Anyone have a high res photo of Calvin Johnson 2006 Virginia game? (The uniform pic everyone loves)...didn't want to start a new thread.
