GOL then left immediately after he found our Richt wasn't a Jim Donnan. O'leary left the cupboard so bare we got the worst beat down in the series history (up to that point) soon after he left.

GOL would never quit, he'd simply not surrender the State of GA and work harder at Recruiting, some of those Players that end up at GT would automatically weaken UGA at the same time, this is why Recrootin' is so important.

Sorry boys, but George O'leary quit. No one made him leave and he didn't retire, he saw the writing on the wall and it said R-I-C-H-T. O'leary struggled to beat Donnan (actually Jasper Sanks beat Donnan).
 
As I recall he left for Notre Dame. And as I recall Bill Curry left us for Alabama, and he was a Tech grad and player under Dodd, so he should have had more loyalty. Can't say many coaches would stay put if Notre Dame called at that point in history. O'Leary was a decent man, loved Tech and got us back to respectability. At least Georgia didn't take us for granted every year, win or lose.

I’m pretty sure nobody was beating down the door to be our OC with the triple-o roster. He has to get better coordinators or he’s going to be fired in a year or two at most and prob become known as the worst GT coach in our long history, surely he knows that.

No, he left when Notre Dame offered him the HC job. More money. More prestige.

I will tell you from. UGA perspective we absolutely hated that CPJ offense. If Tech made all the blocks there was no way to stop it. I used to watch in total amazement at the number of huge runs that Tech would get, you know the kind of runs that you see in most games once if at all and it was just common for Tech’s QB to reel off a run of 30 yds. The very next play 25 yards and so on. It was the most helpless feeling you could have. Everybody knew what was coming and it still couldn’t be stopped.

Flunk gate was due to GTAA stupidity, derelict Administrators in the GTAA, that didn't do their job.

I see why HCs don't want to Coach at GT, the wuss Fanbase blames everything on the Coach, some of you guys act as if you've never been exposed to P5 CFB.

Many caught up in flunk gate were in T9 Sports and in non Revenue Sports, so this wasn't some scheme to give our FB Program an unfair advantage, also many that were caught up in flunk gate, if they stayed for their entire playing eligibility, they went on to graduate.

This was 100% an admin screw up, but since you want smear GOL , you come here with your agenda driven BS and tell only half of the story.
