At GT the OL just flopped around on the ground. Also that’s not even how the blocking scheme works in midline at all. Center and guard play side double team the Nose and then the gaurd works up to the mike linebacker. The tackle wraps around the d end wraps around to the Sam linebacker. D End is the read key, so he has to make a choice on the handoff. Outside the safety is the pitch key, he has to make a choice. If everything is run right, it’s 5 yards every play.
Yeah and we were almost .500 on the season after those two 1 win seasonsTwo straight 1-win seasons did.
A chop block isn’t flopping around on the ground. Think about it, would you want a 300 pound guy just diving at your ACLs when you have cleats on?At GT the OL just flopped around on the ground.
GOL, Collins has worked with him. He knows what GT can be. That we can recruit against UGAg and we can line up and beat their ass. CPJ sold us on "you can't recruit against them" and got the job. We were recruiting well against them. We flushed that for a coach more interested in running his scheme and believing his D2 talent could just outscheme them.
We sacrificed our recruiting. High water mark was Chan's last classes since GOL. Collins can get us back there.
Today I learned that a guy who claimed to have been an offensive lineman doesn’t know what a chop block is.A chop block isn’t flopping around on the ground. Think about it, would you want a 300 pound guy just diving at your ACLs when you have cleats on?
I never claimed to be an offensive lineman and yeah, I misspoke, I meant a cut blockToday I learned that a guy who claimed to have been an offensive lineman doesn’t know what a chop block is.
Today I learned that there are people who don’t know that GOL beat UGA three years in a row.GOL is too old to come back. And while I personally don't like the SOB, Grantham is available now:
BREAKING: Todd Grantham, John Hevesy axed by the Gators per source (yahoo.com)
Besides, GOL quit on us once he saw we couldn't compete against UGA. I thought that was one of your personal gripes with PJ.
I thought you said you played OL at whatever little school you went to. My bad, I guess.I never claimed to be an offensive lineman and yeah, I misspoke, I meant a cut block
No, I played QB and TE throughout high school and played WR in college…I thought you said you played OL at whatever little school you went to. My bad, I guess.
Ok. My bad.No, I played QB and TE throughout high school and played WR in college…
So would CGC be Padme or Jar-Jar?Just because he worked with him, doesn’t mean he is him. Ever seen Star Wars before? Anakin was Obi WAN’s apprentice; however, the only time he could ever beat him was when Obi Wan literally gave up as a distraction. Just because we couldn’t recruit doesn’t mean we still didn’t make great players. Texas has always been a powerhouse in recruiting, but has been about where we were when we had CPJ in terms of success. CPJ could get the guys and form them into great players. Waller was very underrecruited and became a beast. Same with Justin Thomas.
We’ll he’s not hot enough to be PadmeSo would CGC be Padme or Jar-Jar?
And when every pass is just a long jump ball. It’s more like I said before, we never passed out of the option. It’s easy to waltz right in when you have 9 guys in the box.
Yeah, that’s not gonna cause anyone to play back. No doubt, that’s the one thing most TO coaches are is stubborn. And when every pass is just a long jump ball.
No, GOL had one out in his contract. ND. He took that out. He likely would have been here until retirement and become our AD otherwise.GOL is too old to come back. And while I personally don't like the SOB, Grantham is available now:

GOL never quit due to not competing with UGA, GOL is the GT coach that operated with the attitude of "Recruiting is like shaving, if you don't do it every Day, you end up looking like a Bum" vs someone else that said, "they all come highly recommended".GOL is too old to come back.
