Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

What is the definition of "way more money"? Yes, there was an irrational exuberance bump, but they aren't ever gonna be on a level with UGAg, USC, Michigan, Ohio State. They might be able to have a few years of Baylor type success, but I just don't see Deion wanting to put that kind of work in.

way more money would be something like.. selling out your season tickets for the first time in 27 years and the first time ever before august... at a piece of öööö place like the University of Colorado

Yea, a bump. Again, we will see. You're equating the dumbasses who bought Deion's "Prime Time" and his son's "Legendary" BS. You think they will sell out again after a one or two win season this season. Unless his son just balls TF out, it ain't happening.

maybe.. maybe not.. he already made more money for CU than CGC ever did

also JSU attendance did not suffer his 2 years there but agreed its not FBS there

i'm not ready to anoint him the program savior but i'm also not jumping on the he's already failing bandwagon like many in this thread

Interesting prediction that Deion will flop as bad as CGC... i hope youre right but i just don't see it

for example he's already brought in way more money than CGC could dream of so that alone shows me he's already done more than CGC ever did
It's more of a prediction that 4 and 5 star transfers don't necessarily mean instant impact like fans hope for them to be.

Deion has like 8 or 9 total 4 star or higher kids on the roster there, and half of those are incoming freshmen. Not sure where folks get that he is bringing in these stud players all across the board.

I guarantee you GC made more money for GT than Deion did. And GC never made a dime for Colorado

And drop the C

To be fair, since damn near every school has a lot of movement, he probably ran off about half and the others would have left of their own accord for their own reasons. I wonder how many left CO last year.

I looked - 20 did per 24/7.

You have to compare the activity to "normal", not "zero".

No, he doesn't have the "#1 transfer portal ranking".

Read the ranking system description: "On3's Team Transfer Portal Index utilizes the On3 (P)erformance score to measure a team’s production during the transfer process, compared relative against its roster and not a comparison against other schools. This proprietary algorithm determines if a school has improved its overall team talent, stayed the same, or declined in talent during the transfer window."

In other words, they have the best transfer portal class in terms of improvement to their existing roster as determined by On3. Which ultimately isn't saying much. It says the kids they got are expected to be better than the kids they ran off and by this measure of "improvement" they gained the most ground. So, talent wise, they probably still suck but they suck less than they did by whatever metrics On3 uses.

But in sheer numbers, I would even doubt that to be true at this point. Unless the rest of what they get in the portal turns out to be REALLY, REALLY good, they very likely aren't to have gained much or certainly not enough to move the needle in the short term. They got a good QB and a 5 star WR neither of which has played a down of FBS football. The rest of the transfers are largely unremarkable.

Let's also point out that the vast majority of talent he's importing are kids following him from Jackson State, which is now left in tatters. So much for taking pride in HBCU's.

This is what Colorado can look forward to, no later than the ending of Shedeur's eligibility.

Tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all

I’d prefer that our head coaches be stewards of the program and aim to hand something off to the next guy that is better than what they found. I’m not sure that our program could have survived another öööö n git coach like Collins.

If he's building with transfers they can only transfer the once without sitting out. So they'll be stuck at CO unless they can grad transfer.
