Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

It was -21.5 last time I looked
Getting blown out by 58 points in your last game and losing your starting QB probably doesn't inspire much confidence as a favorite.

Even if it is against a team returning 13 scholarship players and a gaggle full of highly speculative replacements that need directions to find their "home" stadium or anything else on campus.

Deion has only taken transfers from 1 HBCU making up around 15% of his total transfers. Seems unfairly low. Something should be done about this in Boulder.
unfortunately colorado is a HWCU and boulder might be one of the whitest places in the country

Now do the FBS transfers coming in.

just a few

This was a low year for FCS period mainly due to the portal

only 10 FCS guys were drafted

A few indeed. Those 5 have a lot of work to do to replace the production of the 57 leaving.

What is the cumulative production numbers for the replacements coming in?

A lot more than what left from a team that scored 14ppg and gave 45ppg

I get your point but how much meaningful production actually left? Colorado was by far the worst P5 team last year. Hell I think GC coached team could have beaten them. Just because guys with "stats" left doesn't always mean thats a bad thing. I mean somebody had to make those tackles, even if it was after 15 yard gain.

Those 5 are certainly "quality" players. They would get playing time at most schools they could transfer to. He's gonna need a lot more just like them or better. A LOT more. It's going to be a thin cupboard in year 1 and I'd be surprised if what they have so far and what they get before kicikoff moves the needle much. We'll see.

Yeah, looking at raw production numbers is kind of silly because, well, the team sucked. Historically bad, really.

The risk with all this turnover is not that the team is less talented than previously, but that the lack of cohesion that results from essentially starting a team from scratch leads to a team that severely underperforms relative its talent level.

If Deion wasn't Deion this would really be a non issue because no one would expect wins next year regardless. But Deion is Deion and I think there are legitimate concerns about what the environment will be like if the team looks really bad.

If those leaving were underclassmen and about to replace starters who have used up eligibility, then you've lost a lot.

Would you have been OK losing Jon Dwyer after his freshman season? He was behind TC. How about Josh F'ing Nesbitt?

If we were 1-11 with eleven 20+ point losses and had Jon Dwyer and Nesbitt sitting on the bench I would probably be pretty upset.

We were bad enough, according to our posters, that our coach got fired.
