Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

Technically is it a rebuild while he is still gutting the roster? Right now isn't it more the biggest demolition in college football history.

Yes, but then he can legitimately claim "biggest rebuild in college football history".

Calling this a train wreck in May is a bit foolish. Still plenty of players moving around and holes to fill. It isn’t like they are going to kickoff in August with 45 players.

They’ve had 1 winning season since 2005 and went 1-11 last year; they are going to get better under Prime, no doubt about that.

I said the foundation is laid for for a trainwreck. The wreck has yet to happen, and may not but I wouldn't bet those odds. I'd say there should be doubt about everything, nothing is guaranteed the whole program is in uncharted waters from the top down and this is going to play out dynamically. They aren't going to kickoff in August with 45 players but the number of new players that have never played a down together is unprecedented by large margin over anyone that didn't have a team ending plane crash the year before. This is as close as you'll ever see to an all freshmen team, and in some ways worse. The stage is set.

This situation is ideal for me. I'm not invested in CO or Deion at all. Good season, bad season I don't really care. But a potential dumpster fire... a death spiral is possible... Ok, glory awaits. If this thing craters its going to be fun to watch hence the train wreck part of the metaphor, no one cares about the aftermath they want to see the damn thing wreck - like watching college football Nascar style.

You guys are all smoking rocks. The fact that there is a 20 page thread on Colorado and Deion on stingtalk is proof the hire is already a success not to mention all the other metrics.

Some of you want to see W's and that is fine. He will get them. Will it be playoff level this year? Probably not but if he stays any amount of significant years they are going to keep heading up the rankings. Even if he leaves, he will win somewhere else.

This is the same thing as Michael Jordan showing up to coach your 0-12, uncoordinated, 2" vertical son's Saturday boys club rec league. I guarantee you they start winning because that is what he does and Deion is cut from a similar cloth.

This was a stellar hire for Colorado. The fact that Tech's hiring and coaching contracts fiasco have crippled us so terribly that we couldn't have hired Deion in the first place doesn't equate to meaning it would have been a bad hire. It would have been great for us and you guys are coping too hard to see the reality.

Some people don't like guys because they are too cocky and that is fine, Deion falls into that category. But this guy isn't LaVar Ball just talking hype and smack, he has proven it on the field and that has already carried over into his coaching career.

I will say that the level of unadulterated optimism is impressive. However, the line "It would have been great for us and you guys are coping too hard to see the reality" is basically Collins "some people don't want to see the progress", line. Well, that's not good.

Doesn't matter though. It's clear the matchup is set. Come fall we have the Kool Aid Drinkers vs The Trainwreckers. The marketing and build up will be epic.

Sounds like an event made for.... well.... Prime Time, who you got, Team Koolaid or Team Trainwreck?

I like seeing a Mustang wrecking into a ditch showing off leaving Cars and Coffee, but I don't equate the driver with Louis Hamilton because I watched him drive a high HP car.

You heard it here first. A 20 page thread is all it takes to be successful. This geoff collins guy, who has a bunch of big threads, must be REALLY good.

Difference is this isn't kool-aid. I don't know how you guys can keep comparing the Deion hire to Collins. That is the most baseless argument, there are absolutely 0 similarities.

If he doesn’t win he’s gonna lose most of the players he brought in and have a hard time selling to new recruits and transfer to come play for him. If he does win he’s still gonna lose players to the portal as their NIL price tags will go up but he won’t have as much problem bringing players in to replace them until Colorado NIL funds can’t keep up with increased demand. Either way he’s gonna blame the university and make an exit at some point before anybody can fire him.

I get your intent, but it's still too soon. Those words just made my body break out in a rash.
You don't have to convince us of where you got that rash. I'd just have the best story possible to convince your wife of where you got it.

This is the anti-Collins thread projected on Deion Sanders. I remember JJ so hung up on Collins jock two years ago I had to place him on ignore, now he is on here bashing Deion. Where did Collins touch you bros?
Some of you are just dumb equating Deion to Collins. Deion may not succeed, he took over a decrepit football team so it will be a challenge. It will be interesting to watch.

Really? Post where I was hung up on his jock. I support our staff. I support our staff now. I want Key to be successful. I know you enjoy just coming on the board to be the "I tried to tell y'all" douchebag. Those are prevalent all across the Internet with negative ass people. You pray for failure so you can show up and pay yourself on the damn back. Well öööö off already.

I wanted Collins to be successful. He wasn't. Hell, I wanted every coach from my first memories of following GT football (Pepper) to be successful. You want to just be an asshole and you're pretty damn good at it.

No, I wasn't one of those douchebags coming on this board saying "I ain't coming to anymore games or supporting GT football until Collins is fired WHAAAAA" Buncha ööööing pussy öööö.

We have been purchasing GT football tickets for DECADES now. There will never be a coach drive me away. I will never be one of those punk ass bitches like you who likes to fair weather GT football.

The only issue I have right now with college football, in general, is that it is being evolved into an NFL type league where you will just be able to purchase a national championship above board, like UGAg and Alabama have done, with Ohio State, Texas, aTm.....and others.....attempting to buy their own.
