Since I started this thread, I'll speak up on what we've seen so far.
The Obvious
1) Colorado was prepared and motivated. Give Deion and his staff credit for that.
2) Colorado's skill players are much better than I expected. Travis Hunter is a special athlete.
3) Picking up the Kent State HC as OC was a genius hire.
4) The rest of the team clearly has been upgraded in talent, size, speed, and strength. Extremely impressive in such a short time.
5) It's worth repeating that the team was prepared. Very impressive and surprising given the short window of time to get them ready and to play with cohesion and to know what they are doing. I give Deion and his coaching staff a ton of credit for that.
Other Thoughts and Observations
1) It's one game.
2) Can they continue to play lights out effort going forward?
3) They aren't gonna sneak up on anyone now. Teams will be much better prepared having seen what they do and who they do it with.
4) Can they continue to play with discipline, cohesion, and intensity when their opponents are better prepared than TCU was?
5) How much of that one game performance was TCU not being as prepared or as good as we thought preseason?
Conclussion
My sentiments about Deion Sanders as a head coach haven't changed. His post game press conference comments are just one of the reasons I wouldn't want him as my head coach. Lots of continuing divisive comments. It will be interesting to see how that story evolves as the season unfolds.
It's a long season. I don't think Deion Sanders has proven anything yet as a HC other than completely turning over a ööööty roster with better rated transfer talent is bound to improve your teams performance and that as a recruiter he obviously has a lot of influence and ability. Recruiting transfers is a lot easier to do when you are basically able to guarantee a starting spot on day one to the players you are recruiting. That will change going forward.
Time will tell.
