When we tried to get back in the SEC, Alabama sponsored us and voted for us. Georgia voted against us. There are a lot of reasons for me to prefer Alabama to Georgia.

1. #4 Bama beats #1 Michigan
2. #3 Texas beats #2 Washington
3. Beat the mutts in the Orange Bowl
4. Finish the year as the only undefeated team in college football and hang that natty banner up in the Doak

This is exactly why this is the best case scenario for Florida State. They can beat Georgia, they would almost certainly get waxed by any of the CFP teams. Now they have a winnable game and if they win it, they will be 14-0 and as far as I know there is no reason they can't just claim they're national champions. Their claim means just as much as the CFP committee or the ööööing Associated Press.

I think that, when we tried to get back in the SEC, Alabama voted for us, and Bryant tried to help us get support from other teams. On the vote on scholarships that led to us leaving the SEC, Bryant said Alabama would vote with us, but didn't come to the meeting where that vote went against us. Dodd and Bryant were not getting along then, but they patched things up before we tried to get back in the SEC. (All this is from my not always great memory, but I believe it is correct.)

Ohio States big OOC win was ND who lost to both Clemson and Louisville. Pretty handily. Not the same way they lost to Ohio State.
