CGC post game presser

Would give your posts 2 likes if I could.

Collins recruiting has been excellent. Needs strong assistants if he is going to be the head guy. Let’s hope that Tdope is fundraising/finding the money for 2 good coordinators. Much cheaper to pay up for those than to replace a whole staff after apathy sets in.

I don't think this is the assistants' fault. I think the head coach is responsible. I think the program will never be good with a bad head coach. Never.

Well, welcome to the gestapo refugee camp....LOL
Don't worry about stating your objections to the coaching staff on this site. So far, even though not everyone agrees, there have not been any repercussions here to stating those objections, or downright disgust with the coaches......unlike certain other sites.
i said something snarky about Collins last year on TOS and a get finger wagging message from the mods.
Love to take that message and send it back to them and ask what do they think now

They probably still wouldn't like it. If they didn't ban you the first time, they would ban you now.

I continue to question the love for Tenuta. Apparently you have forgotten the games in which the D totally sucked.

It's a pretty good parallel to me. Tenuta blitzed his ass off and he believed that D pressure would pay off. It was his system and he owned it. Collins does the same thing, he believes in his "process" and lives by it and bleeds it and that's why we always hear the same thing over and over.

The difference is that yes, while Tenuta's sell out got burned on occasion, when it worked it was glorious, and it worked plenty enough to keep us competitive on the D side, yet unfortunately Nix/Bond couldn't get the offense to deliver consistently enough. Collins on the other hand, at least this far anyway, is just getting routed and when your convictions lead you down a losing road over and over, it doesn't mix well with the desires of the fan base in football.

What does it even mean to "create margin" ???
does he have any clue what he's taliking about?
That comment goes right next to the comment where he said, "we lost our leverage" when a DB blew a damn 1 on 1 tackle in open Field vs UVA.

The AD needs to tell CGC use plain english when addressing the Fans in pressers, they saw what happened, using trendy lingo doesn't help you, GT FB, nor the Player that screwed up.

Recruiting has clearly improved.

We have 3 RBs that could step in and start at any Top5 Program and those Teams wouldn't miss a beat and might even be better.

We lost today because our Talent along our LoS is so poor that once our starting Center went out his backup ended up ass over teakettle getting blown in the backfield on critical plays, #72 looked like this was his first tine playing the sport, if #72 could just get a stalemate a few times we win that game.

That's how weak & fragile we are on the lines, lose a Center and everything goes to crap, this Kid looked like he never expected to play, and when forced into action he was mentally shocked by the intensity of Game action.

Every FB Game is won in the trenches, that's where we happen to be very weak.

If the recruiting is so much better, why is a kid, who you are crapping on AND was recruited as a guard, looking so absolutely lost? Shouldn’t better recruited talent at least be on par with the leftover upper class? And why isn’t there a true center among those recruits? We could have used one yesterday.

I've admitted that the LoS Recruits are what is killing us.

Even though he was Recruited as a Guard, he knew he was the #2 Center , he knew he was one snap from playing in Games, and showed up and played with no fire and no intensity.

Honestly, the Kid played like he hated our Coaches and wanted to get him fired, I've seen lesser talented Kids forced into action and have seen them fight like hell to save their coaches Job or to win a Game, what I saw from #72 Today was not that.

Look at the condensed Game when it comes out and you'll see, laser focus on the OLine play, and you'll agree with me.

And you gave a thumbs up to my comment about the DB recruits not starting. Yet you preface your comments by saying, “Recruiting has clearly improved.” That pretty much leaves the undersized LBs, a scatter-armed QB, RBs that don’t get enough touches, injured/RS WRs, and a kicker or two. Perhaps the recruiting shouldn’t be getting a pass.

Just got banned on other site for this:

someone asked how the asterisks could be used for CGC, & I jokingly said this:

***ff with a clown emoji.

kind of like the rest of society now - can’t handle free speech, even jokes, just cancel the person.
They’re definitely touchy over there. But there’s a certain amount of fans still sold on his gab.

OK

Allow me to put it this way, the most important Area of Recruiting is where we are the weakest, on both LoS's, if we had better Players there, that played better in crunch time, then the rest of the Team would look much better with better Players along both LoS's.

You win the LoS, you win the Game in most cases.

It’s the same damn thing every week. Constantly telling us how they battled and fought, and did things right to give us a chance to win, but never telling us what we will do going forward to actually secure a win. Collins is more focused on looking cool and promoting his agenda than he is doing what it takes to win.

I kind of feel sorry for him. He had a big dream and it is turning into a nightmare before his eyes. It is like he is beginning to see he is in way over his head.

What I don't get is this. His philosophy is to recruit the best players possible and put them on the field. Why doesn't he put any effort into recruiting coordinators?? He wants 4&5 star players; but he'll settle for FCS level coordinators. Seems really odd.
Because any good coordinator will understand way more football than he does and will be a threat to take his job away from him. That’s done in the corporate business world all the time.

“Never hire an employee that’s better at your job than you are.”
