Why do you think that?Chadwell is a big fish in a small pond.
He won’t last five minutes in the P5 ocean.

A lot more shotgun, a lot more passing, but defense can read the option better if not blocked correctly (which Coastal doesn't seem to have a problem with.)We are all hearing a lot of buzz around Chadwell as a potential HC candidate. Curious to know from the scheme gurus on this board on how his offense is that different from Monken's at Army or other triple option derivatives.
Yes, and probably, solely bc it's mot Wing T, and he passes 25-30 times a gameVery informative, thanks all. Now the question is, do we want this offense at GT and will recruits want to play in it?
I remember listening to an interview with Chadwell. He basically said that his offense looks a lot like the CPJ flexbone, but it didn't share any history. Basically it evolved some similar concepts but started from a completely different place.
I think Chadwell is a brilliant football coach. I just question if our boosters and (half of our) fans base can deal with another option coach.
Personally, I would love it.
Is it like what Pat White ran at West Virginia? So the Rich Rod offense?
It is an option offense just out of the shotgun but most people really only know enough to know that running your offense from under center is not cool.

This is a good quote from Chadwell. I think he would do great here.If you look at the stats you will see that they throw the ball much more that Coach Johnson ever did on the flats. Chadwell does run the Spread Midline Option when he runs the ball. But that is really it as far as being close to CPJ. He also has RPOs he that he calls and they are more effective than CDP RPOs ever were.

How many years in was this quote? Says hes bottom 3 in talent in the league at that point. This is a good quote from Chadwell. I think he would do great here.
“The reason why we like to run the offense that we do, you don’t have to have the best linemen in the country to win games,” Chadwell said. “You don’t have to have the best receivers in the country to win games. Every job that I have had has been a rebuild. We’ve had to develop and recruit talent that fits your system.
“Part of the reason that we like to do the offense, is it gives you a chance to win games. We were probably the eighth most talented team out of ten in our league — and won the league this year. Part of that is because you get kids to buy into your scheme and your system, and they fit that. We can do a variety of different things. Recruiting is not hard for it, you just have to find the right guys that want to fit into what you do.”

There is definitely some of that included. We even run some read option out of the shotgun some this year, although the quality of the reads makes me wonder how serious we are about it. Watching Chadwell's offense, you'll see some of that, with some diamond-based triple option, and a fair bit of run-pass option stuff as well.Is it like what Pat White ran at West Virginia?
