Collins speaks

I am also interested to know. I was going to defend him because it seems like people are bitching about him doing what everyone has wanted him to do all year (take responsibility, less juice, etc.), but if he brought up Temple again that is pretty indefensible.
Not a big Collins fan, but honestly the presser wasn't that bad. Geoff took more responsibility, addressed the fans more directly, and even said the focus needed to be "less on culture and more on ball."

The Temple quote and the quite about elite defense tarnished it for sure. Both came out of nowhere.

My one major issue is that the DC issue wasnt directly addressed. Said the remaining coaching vacancies would be filled in "the next two weeks," but glossed over how DC duties would be handled.

Do we assume by this he's taking on the DC role and Thacker is basically second in command?
I take that as he’s being intentionally ambiguous. He might want to do that if he’s searching for a DC but hasn’t found one yet. If he doesn’t find one he can pretend that was the plan all along.

People complain when he doesn't talk. People complain when he does talk.

I get that. For me, the past 3 weeks where we had zero football and zero Collins actually had me on the upswing. Even with losing Gibbs and Willis I was starting to go back to my optimistic side.

Then I watch 30 minutes of our coach dance with his baseball hat pulled down like he’s on a surveillance tape. It took me right back to 100-0. Seriously, what did he say that indicates anything? He’s been a head coach for 5 years and he acts like a middle school coach - he’s sad his boss made him fire his best friend who ran an offense that couldn’t score. Then he tells us what good of family men his friends are. Seriously? This is a freaking business, not family dinner. And every person he’s ever come across he’s known for over 20 years. Why does he think we care or believe him. We should have listened when Temple fans cheered that we took him off their hands.

All the words have been spoken. We get it. He’s going to reconsider his process and work hard. Things any normal coach would have done after one 3-9 season. The only that matters moving forward is the scoreboard. He’s in year 4, not 1.

“Know” in the biblical sense
Like our defense is full of öööö and it's only any good if you believe hard enough and there's occasionally a guy at a pulpit preaching that it's actually really good but some people don't want to see it?
