Domineck Gone

Domineck graduated. He thought about transferring in 2019 but came back and got his degree. He's going somewhere else to get his masters. That happens all the time.
Maybe he decided the GT masters was tougher than he thought. Entering the portal is very risky now unless you have a sure landing spot.
Waiting to transfer now prevented us from bringing in a potential replacement who could participate in our "winter" practice.
On the positive side, maybe we can pick up a motivated replacement out of the portal who was passed over by the higher payout schools.

My hypothetical destination if I had a single-use time travel machine has changed. Instead of preventing the spread of communism, I would go to 2001 and show George O'Leary what happens if he takes the Notre Dame offer.

Then I'd go around the world warning people about upcoming volcanic eruptions and hurricanes. On my way back from Tonga I'd bring a blow gun that I'd use to dart anyone bringing a job offer to Dan Radakovich or Todd Stansbury.

Can’t wait to hear how unblockable those guys are in Spring and Fall camp. Further can’t wait for the follow on season where they put up a massive 6 total tackles like Harris.

Our DE depth now sucks dick, which was the point. Keep pumping those rainbows and unicorns though. You’re doing great.
I never said it wasn't bad losing Domineck, dick. But you said we had 4 DE. I was just correcting you that we have 7. Not really sure how that's pumping rainbows and unicorns but whatever.

We're losing most of our production off of what was already one of the least experienced teams in P5. I get what you're trying to say here, but I honestly don't think we can.
9 sacks in 31 games. Not exactly lighting the world on fire. I think we’ll be alright.

I’d be surprised if he lands at a P5 team.

Here's a fun fact. Kennard had more sacks than Domineck last year in way fewer snaps. Sure it hurts losing depth but like you say, it's not like he was an all-American.

Ok, but that's just 1 piece. I'm saying, in total with all the losses.

- Best RB
- Best WR
- 3 OL starters
- 2 DE starters
- Starting DT
- Best LB
- 3 DB starters
- K (remember what it was like in 2020)

You right, watchin that Tonga Volcano ts like being an GT fan looking toward the upcoming season!

You could shut down the portal at times, but that would not stop players from announcing their intentions. What the NCAA should do is make a rule that an athlete can only begin participating at a new school at the beginning of an enrollment period - fall semester, spring semester, summer first session, summer second session. It should be a major violation to allow the player access to the weight room or training facilities or permit them to attend practice until they are matriculating at the school. This might limit some of the mid-semester desire to enter the portal.

Only way out should be if you graduate, HC leaves, or you die. The rest of this is nebulistic existential bullshit and is ruining everything.

These young men need to know what a commitment is and get to experience the consequences of breaking one. Society is letting this crap happen everywhere and it's not for the better.

I think it was a combination of a few things:
1 - he graduated
2 - Coleman, his position coach had left
3 - Although he started like 7 or 8 games, he didn't start the last 3 or 4 games and he may not have wanted to stay for a masters program if he didn't feel like he would be a starter.

100% agree. And once a regular student starts at GT, the only way out for them is graduate or die. These students need to know what a commitment is!

Isn't that how classes at Tech work anyway?

We have people to lose?

Give me that time machine... I just want to explain to Saban in Miami in 2006 that nobody is gonna give his success any credit if he does it somewhere where "anybody can win." I mean, they practically give away national championships when you cross the city line in Tuscaloosa. If he really wants to prove he's the greatest of all time, he needs to do it somewhere no one's expecting. Someplace with great recruiting potential. A massive media market. A long history, but still unexpected, you know? I'd help him find a place like that where he could really shine, show his stuff.
