Domineck Gone

What a shame. It is truly sad what is happing on the Flats.
I was told that even if Collins doesn't work out he will at least leave upgraded players for the next coach. F this.
The kid graduated and he had been beaten out as a starter by the last 3 or 4 games of last season. Throw in that his position coach left and is ANYONE really surprised that he's leaving to try his hand somewhere else for 1 last year while he works on his masters degree?

Some of you are hilarious.

All good points. The surprising thing is the timing. Leave in December and we can react in the transfer portal. There should be a window in the spring, but his timing hurts us.

I would have preferred JD to come back. I think he could help us. But I don't understand how some of ya'll think any of these guys would have stayed if Collins had gotten canned. We would have almost certainly lost more.

We can still pull from the transfer portal now

Marco Coleman only left after the December portal window. Probably the impetus that sparked the timing.

Won 3 games with him and will win 3 games without him.

Ok, but that's just 1 piece. I'm saying, in total with all the losses.

- Best RB
- Best WR
- 3 OL starters
- 2 DE starters
- Starting DT
- Best LB
- 3 DB starters
- K (remember what it was like in 2020)

I don’t think this post is having the affect you anticipated

-Best RB- Loved Gibbs, but Dontae showed he’s every bit of a threat as Gibbs
- Best WR- Carter is still here
- 3 OL starters - Not sure who is the 3 staters you are referring to. Cochran the on real hit here
- 2 DE starters- Ivey is the biggest lost so far. Kennard/ and when healthy/ Younjen took snaps away Domineck.
- Starting DT- Really? Appreciate Djimon Brooks but cmon bruh
- Best LB- Tallest Midget scenario. Tatum should be an upgrade
- 3 DB starters- You have to be kidding? Everyone was calling for these guys to be benched now it’s big lost from of the worst pass defenses known to man
- K (remember what it was like in 2020)- Aidan Barr will get his opportunity

Agreed. I don't get the gnashing of teeth over this one. I would have been glad if he stayed; but it seems perfectly reasonable for him to leave.

Pretty much agree with your post (which I seldom do)
- Best WR - don't we get to see BlackStrain as well?
-3 OL starters - normally this would be cause for concern; but given how our OL has looked maybe seeing a bunch of new faces is a good thing
-2 DE starters - see OL above
-3 DB starters - I am hoping the coaching changes show dividends here

Our OL was significantly worse last year when starters were out. Especially the interior when vaipulu and

Also Gibbs is a huge loss, anyone thinking Dontae smith is a comparable talent is a little looney.

The DEs hurt, Dominick has been a solid player for 3 years and Ivey had NFL athletic potential.

WRs and DBs are pretty interchangeable. We could actually improve at WR if Blackburn can be a difference maker. DBs we have good athletes, just need more accountability and buyin.

Smith and Griffin behind an approved OL would be more than capable though. The great big IF is having an improved OL though, I have nothing to base it on than hopes and dreams. I still am not going to get to upset about changes in personnel on the OL and DL though based and what we've seen the past 3 seasons. It would be nice to have depth so we could rotate guys though.

Why didn’t we see him at all? Redshirt allows 4 games, and I know Blackburn got injured before the season (ACL right?). He could turn out to be our version of Kyle Pitts, so I’m not too worried about the receiver core yet.

It not just this one player, it's the cumulation of defects over the last three months. Collins defenders like to argue that he is a master recruiter and that the talent level is improved while the actual talent is headed out the door.

Unless he catches on with Kennesaw State or another FCS bunch, my hope is that he enters and finds himself without a scholarship. I'm done with these thugs saying they are blessed and thanking God then jumping ship via twitter. I'm also done with fans wishing them the best. Why? Lack of loyalty works both ways.
