Marshall is a smaller 5'10" 210ish tailback. Great burst and speed. He will get PT and bust some long runs this year. This is the first guy we've had since Dwyer that you'll be expecting a homerun if he breaks into the 2nd level. You have to get about 7:30 into his HS highlight tape before finding a clip that doesn't end with him coasting in the endzone with a trail of defenders 10 yards behind.

I'm also expecting some mistakes and blocking breakdowns given that they've both only been here a few weeks. Marshall is the future though IMHO. That kid is explosive. I'm still confused as to why he didn't have more factories knocking on his door.

I'm not saying that, I don't believe he was either. Everything has to be executed properly for those opportunities to be there, obviously, but having a guy that can explode through them when they open is exciting.

This. Dwyer was a monster for us. Lets get Marshall some real carries before we give him too much praise.

Yeah they moved MLD to AB after he fell behind Skov/Marshall/Allen. I think they keep Weimerskirch at BB when he returns but he'll RS.

Marshall and Leggett will be a great 1-2 punch moving forward in '16-'18. I'm thinking MLD ends up playing a lot of AB with those two at BB.

Nobody called him the next Dwyer. I'm just saying Marshall is the first guy with homerun speed that we've had playing BB since him. '08 Dywer was a tank that had breakway speed - I'm not holding my breath waiting for another BB like him from that season. There's not many RBs that have come out of college the last decade that looked better than Dwyer did in '08.

These guys are gonna be an amazing platoon for us in the backfield. Skov is gonna get us those couple of yards when we need em and wear out the MLB over the course of a game, then Marshall is gonna bust long ones past the worn out interior in the 4th quarter.

Best of both worlds.

I think these two are both they largest and smallest guys we've played at the position. I feel good about it.

This could give us a real "thunder and lightning" look with JT in the midline :biggthumpup:

Three profound observations from this short clip:

1. BradAss Stewart looks so good catching the ball it makes me want to cry
2. Snoddy still has the jets
3. At the 25 second mark, I love the look of that play where the AB goes in motion, freezes right before he gets to the BB, then a second later the play starts and follows through on the motion. That play will keep defenses honest and not jumping the snap count (like VT did in 13), and you could also run a number of different options and counters from that look.

I hadn't seen that, so thank you. The kid looks like he's capable of trucking many an unfortunate defender this year. Maybe it's just me but for some reason the way he runs reminds me of AA.
