sshhh .... don't you know that's our secret tactic, to not be able to see the numbers? I mean, see how much problem Louisville had with it? They couldn't get a good look at the numbers on jerseys until the players were standing around in the end zone.
 
We make this too hard. Tech fans love gold pants, white jerseys, gold helmets. We also love the throwback with the white pants, Gold Jersey, and white helmet with the gold GT. We need Navy only for striping and trim and to make numerals identifiable. Blue pants playing Duke is overthinking things by a long shot.

Navy is awesome. Many of us love it. Navy pants are awesome.
Gold and white constantly is boring as öööö.

As long as the interlocking GT is on the side of the helmet, that awesome Ford leads us on to the field, we blow the steam whistle on first and touchdowns, the band plays bud and up with the white and gold and ramblin reck, to hell with georgia is screamed and I get to drink clear whiskey, I don't care which of our historic 3 colors are used in the uni, hell throw in some black watch once in a while. Did you old farts bitch when those showed up the first time? We are not bama and the Dodd teams are not coming back. We dont have to do traditional old school unis like Bama or Penn st. Or any of those. That is part of their deal, not ours. The same uni over and over has never been part of our tradition. Holy shit where's the tylenol?
 
I have enjoyed all of the unis thus far with a few slight opinions I would change but at the end of the day realize maybe someone else likes them. I'm not sure about GT wearing blue pants but am thinking they will look fine just like all of the other adidas stuff. It might be time GT isn't traditional. Traditional wasn't really working.

I really don't care about uniforms that much but I do agree that the branding sucks. What look are we going for? What is our brand? There is no alignment in anything we do. We were told this was going to get better, but it continues to be disjointed. Whoever works in GT marketing should be fired and the entire staff should be replaced with people who have a clue.

I don't care if we wear blue uniforms. We have before to great success. We can wear green uniforms and my enthusiasm would be undimmed. But GT's colors have always been white and gold. Navy's an accent color.

And I think it's really ironic that you seem to want to pick and choose the traditions that are important to you. Don't begrudge others when they do the same thing.

He certainly thinks so. :lol2: He's 53. On another note, our high school just switched to Adidas this year too. Huge upgrade. Very nice uniforms and well made. No screen printing or heat transfer crap. All logos, lettering, and numbers are stitched. Not the prime knit stuff but it's heavy duty material and breathable. Pretty sweet.

With all the talk about "branding" I fail to see how multiple looks gives you a brand. When one sees Alabama,Penn St.,So. Cal, you know who they are immediately.
it looks like our team could be Tulsa this week, or a casual fan tuning into our game asking who's who? Is that Duke or Tech in the white shirts?
tech should be wearing white shirts, gold pants, gold helmets every game possible. Just what I would like to see them do but he'll I am an old guy.

I’m totally on the opposite end of spectrum here. Adidas & marketing has been solid this season. Aside from winning (most important) some myths about the GT brand has to be dispelled. GT is currently known more for being nerds and the triple option than what we wear! I promise this make us look more enticing to 14-18y/o than most want to admit. The interlocking GT and buzz are established as a our brand. Now having cool uniforms with nice combinations is next the small baby step in the brand identity. Being a consistent 9-10gm winner should be next

When I see Alabama, I usually have to squint and think a bit to decide they aren't Arkansas, Georgia, Wisconsin, South Carolina, or one of a dozen other schools that wears mostly red and white uniforms.

It's not their fault everyone copied them, though.

Disagree there. Alabama doesn't look like anybody else to my eye.
