As regards the Black Watch, there was no internet then so I can not honestly tell you about complaints.

I have no doubt you realize the Black Watch in no way involved a uni for GT.

It was simply a wide black helmet stripe and a solid black GT helmet logo worn by a Very Small % of the players on the team. Just certain D players if I remember correctly, maybe some on S/T. NONE on O.

It was not a TEAM uni. And whatever cachet it had was fairly well wiped out the next year when curry, for the 2nd time, got embarrassed by Furman.

Wonder if CPJ would agree to some reward deviation on our unis that excludes the O?

Yes, but we did that before the black watch. One had nothing to do with the other.

And for the 81 home game vs ugag (God Bless Robert Jaracyz [sp?]), curry had us in blue shirts.

No we aren't the only ones - bama, auburn, ut, texas, lsu, n.d., ou, usc - the list goes on and on.

I don't like them due to the arbitrary nature of giving them out. Example - suppose a DB gets one for an intercepton, but the only reason he got the interception was due to a great pass rush by a DL.

I know you're kidding but stickers are stupid. If you make plays, I'll know it. If you're good at school, I'll probably figure that if you make it to the next season.

That said, it just so happens that some of the best recruiting schools have traditional uniforms that have never drastically changed. There uniforms are there identity. For some reason Tech has an identity problem the past couple of years with the exception of the past two years. Last years uniforms (despite being Russell) is our identity. You can vary in that identity but don't put Botox in it to make it look like something your not.

To me, this is Tech's identity. (I do not endorse going back to Russell)

Agree, it’s white and gold! Blue should be used sparingly. We look like Penn State molested Notre Dame.
 
After the freaking chicken wire and bubble wrap abomination that Russell came up with, I’m not going to complain about blue pants that look pretty good other than not being our standard look. Adidas would have to do some ööööed up shit with our uniforms to come close to the ugly shit Russell had us in (bubble wrap, chicken wire, the baby shit brown uniforms we had for a few years, etc).

Also - we need to make fun of everyone else’s turnover stuff in a very obvious way. A turnover teddy bear or something.

I'm assuming you are being sarcastic but just in case.......Adidas is one of the most recognized brands in the world. They are the uniform suppliers of a majority of the world's most famous sports teams. I love Tech but this isn't even close.
 
I know Oregon and Maryland are “laboratory” programs for Nike and UA and their brand is a different uniform each week. But, the best programs have an identifiable look that seldom changes - Bama, Auburn, LSU, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, UCLA, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. A few have left the traditional look for a single game each season with generally unfavorable reviews. I don’t think recruiting has improved at FSU or Tennessee because of their awful looking black or gray abominations. There are some schools that have a different look every couple of years - Vandy, Kentucky, Oregon State, Northwestern, South Carolina, Washington State, Missouri, Louisville, Indiana come to mind - a list of schools that clearly struggle to develop a football brand. Only Oregon can point to increased football success about the time they introduced changing, cutting edge uniforms.
