I wonder if that #19 stat was skewed by 2-3 games Miami played against weak opponents (FAMU, Ball State, USF). Miami had given up an average of 29.5 points to ACC teams before our game. (Granted, if you have a high-scoring offense your opponent gets more chances to score, so points allowed per possession is a better stat.)

No doubt that our defense played great. I'm just questioning whether Miami's defense was really that good. We repeatedly outran them to the edge with guys like Singleton, and we couldn't do that at all against Notre Dame.
Notre Dame had better coaching than Miami.

I also posted this in the Miami post-game thread but I'm double-posting it here. Sue me.

Pretty sure this means we won the two most-watched football games this season.

So much free good press for us this year between Dublin and Miami game. Having another Friday night prime time game coming another opportunity. That’s following being the only show on the Thursday night before. Would love to see GT bring out the WWE guys again in Athens on our sideline to create a bit more hype going into the bowl season. Feels like a missed opportunity not riding the wave we had early.

Interesting that some “lowly ACC teams” would have the 2 highest rated games for ESPN. ;)
Partially because the best SEC and BIG games are usually not on ESPN but on the other networks. List for the whole season here:

With that said GT has played many teams close making for great ratings!
